The tall, handsome, and tattooed TA in her psychology class changes everything when he literally collides with her and confronts her. For the first time in a long time, she wants to try and open up to this guy whose dark, intense eyes can't hide his own pain despite his dazzling smile getting to her.

However, just when she's starting to live again, her ex-boyfriend comes back, breaking her time and time again, making it all the more complicated.

She wants to fight for herself and for this building thing with the TA, even when he pushes her away, but can two broken people patch each other up?

"I never thought colliding with someone could change lives, but it is possible."

Excerpt:

(The first meeting)

Without paying attention to my surroundings, I turn to my left to walk toward the row closer to the door where a seat is available. I take a step and collide with a hard body, almost toppling me over on the ground for the second time in less than an hour. A strong hand grips me firmly by the forearm. My body stiffens and my breath catches in my throat. It’s as if I can’t move besides yanking my arm free without looking up to see who I collided with.

“Are you all right?” he asks me in a deep and calm voice.

My eyes wander from my red Converse to his dark boots. I have to calm down. I’m being ridiculous. Calm down. I take a deep breath and look up slowly. Long, muscled legs in beat up dark blue jeans, an old black leather jacket open over a dark grey V-neck sweater that showcases an impressive tall body with broad shoulders and finally, longish and messy black hair, perfect straight nose, full lips, high cheekbones and expressive soft dark eyes that lock with my bluish-greyish ones. He looks older with his goatee perfectly trimmed. A perfect hot mess many girls would say. I’m just intimidated by this stranger, though.

“I’m fine,” I reply, my voice even. I push away some of my untamed locks and curse my auburn frizzy hair that is always all over the place.

My Review by Fiona Wilson

4 Stars

Skye followed her heart, and her boyfriend, to join the same college. But he broke it off almost immediately after, shattering her into little pieces. Since then Skye has struggled to repair the damage he did. But the damage runs far deeper than even we, the reader, first realises.

Kate, Skye's roommate, tries to involve Skye in the party side of college, inviting her out to social evenings. But it is at one of these we discover her ex is a nasty piece of work, but the author still manages to keep the extent of this hidden until just the right moment.

Skye finds an ally in a TA (teaching assistant) from one of her classes, Duke. We discover that Duke, in his own way, is also damaged from a past experience. He decides he sees something in Skye which makes him want to be her friend, and he goes all out to persuade Skye this is a good idea. But she isn't so easy to convince.

Throughout the story Skye has to put up with a lot from other people. Not only her ex, but from Kate and Duke in different ways. She also has to hide a lot from everyone, including her parents.

What will happen when her secrets come to light? Will she get the support she so desperately needs? Or will her ex have the final say?

This was not an easy story to read due to the content within its pages. There is adult content/abuse and is therefore not for younger people. But the storyline is all necessary to make this a book worth reading.

Cover reveal - A Witch's Curse by M.L. Stephens

Release date 10/10

Hecate didn't dabble in dark magic. Watching her lover die at the end of another man's sword changed that. In a single act of vengeance, she turned her lover's killer into a werewolf and cursed him for eternity. It was A Witch's Curse to rival all others and it was her last act as a goddess.

Drago despised being a werewolf. He spent thousands of years searching for an antidote, only to discover that the witch who cursed him, also had to cure him. Unfortunately, that witch died lifetimes ago. Undeterred, he continued to search. Two years ago he found Hecate's remains lying in a crypt hidden deep within the Louisiana Bayou. Today, he watched a coven of witches bring her back to life.

He killed her lover. She damned him for all time. Can two souls who are destined to be eternal enemies, learn to forgive enough to live again?

Blog Tour/Guest Post/Author Interview - Suza Kates - The Savannah Coven Series

Today we are delighted to be featuring the author of The Savannah Coven series, Suza Kates! She currently has 6 books published in the series with "Suffering of a Witch” , Book 7, due to be released on October 20th.

Author Guest Post

What’s Your Poison?

Vamps, shifters, mares, mermaids, assassins, demons, and my personal favorite—witches. The list goes on and on, and thankgoodness for that. In the last several years there has been an insurgence of all things paranormal and/or urban fantasy, and if you’re like me, you love it!

Now, I have a confession to make. I didn’t always read PNR and UF. In fact, I wrote the first book of the Savannah Coven Series, “Whisper of a Witch,” before I’d ever read anything from these genres. (Other than Nora Roberts’ supernatural trilogies)

But now… I’m officially hooked. I’m a full-fledged parajunkie.

As I near the close of my Savannah Coven Series, I’m juggling a few different ideas for what will come next. I have a couple of ideas in mind, but I’m curious to know what other readers think. Sometimes I find myself searching for the next awesome author to get hooked on. I read a series I love all the way through the most recent release, and then I have to wait. Sound familiar?

So I’d like to know what elements of the paranormal world you just can’t get enough of? Or…what’s not out there that you’re dying to read? (No pun intended) ; )

I’d love to hear about some of your favorite paranormal or urban fantasy cravings. So tell me, what’s your poison?

Interview with the Author

What is the most important thing about being a writer?

I didn’t know this before my first book was released, but I’ve come to believe respect for readers is crucial. I would not be where I am now without support from fans, and I approach each book with a sense of obligation. Okay, now that sounds pretty heavy, but honestly, I know my job is essentially to give them something they want, and their opinions are the most important thing to me.

Where do you get your inspiration from?

Everywhere and anything. I only wish I could flesh out and write down my ideas as quickly as they come to me. I might watch a movie about a treasure hunt and decide to add jewels to my witch series, or sometimes as I’m writing a scene, an idea just pops up. I’m okay with having too many ideas, because the opposite would be very bad!

How do you cope if you get a bad review?

At first I would beat myself up for days, but then I learned the number one rule of writing. (For me anyway!) And that is, you can’t please everybody. The number of bad reviews is what I look at, and as long as they are small when compared to the good ones, I feel pretty happy about what I’ve written. I have to admit, my favorite bad reviews are when someone writes that my romance book was too much like a romance!

How do you choose your characters names?

I often choose a name that reflects the character’s personality, orif that’s not necessary, I sift through the Internet or magazines for an idea. Sometimes I make them up, as was the case for Willyn in the Savannah Coven series. I played around with sounds until I got something I liked. If I’m really stuck, I send out a mass text to my friends and family and say help!

Occupational hazards about being a writer?

Well...upper back and shoulder pain! But the second would be the danger of becoming a hermit. Oh, and lack of conversation skills. Ha ha. What? You mean everyone doesn’t want to talk about paranormal TV shows and books all the time?

What book or film character would you say you were most like?

What’s funny is I always identified with Jo from Little Women, even though I didn’t want to write when I was young. I loved her spirit of adventure and that she knew she wasn’t like all the other girls. She was a tomboy, and so was I.

What makes you laugh?

My cats. Yes, I’m a crazy cat lady, but they are hysterical! They all have their own personalities, and I always have stories to tell my husband when he comes home. My cats, and...the show “Bones.” The humor in it always catches me off guard.

Which book has been the hardest to write?

Each one feels hard at a certain point, but my second attempt at a novel took me years to complete. When I wrote She Who is Hidden, I was still playing at the concept of writing, and struggling to keep up with the plot. It was very complicated and probably not the best idea for a novice!

Any hints as to what lies ahead for your characters?

I think the overall outcome for the coven is expected, but I try to make each witch’s story unique and surprising. The next book is Kylie’s, Suffering of a Witch, and I hope to shock the heck out of my readers!

Favourite character?

Oh, that’s a difficult choice. If I’m going with my own characters, I guess I’d have to say Paige from the Savannah Coven. She’s just so blunt and says whatever’s on her mind. Plus, she is no fan of the love stories going on all around her andmakes the most unexpected comments!

Least favourite?

Pass!

Which character would you like to meet in real life?

I want to meet Shauni, so she can talk to my cats and tell me what they’re really thinking!

Your favourite authors?

Nora Roberts is always a go-to read, but when I’m in the mood for some crime drama, I enjoy Tess Gerritsen and Kathy Reichs. Kresley Cole is a favorite when it comes to paranormal romance. I love to see recurring characters and keep up with how they’re doing after finding the big love. : ) For UF, Jennifer Estep’s Gin Blanco is awesome!

Favourite book right now?

Poison Princess. I don’t always read YA, but I just loved the story! I plan to re-read it, and that is a rare thing.

What genres of books do you read?

Romance, mostly paranormal these days, suspense, and police procedurals. Occasionally I get in the mood for a cozy mystery or adventure novel, but adventures with strong female leads are hard to find. I have a semi-plan in mind to write one myself!

Childhood book?

Little Women. Hands down.

Did you ever dream you would become an author?

No, which makes my life now the biggest surprise! Between you and me, I wanted to be a singer. As it turns out, I’m more of an introvert and a homebody. Planning the excitement is as much fun as actually getting out and doing it. But I enjoy both.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

With a house in the country, or at least being planned or built. I love the outdoors and want to be able to step out my back door to see nothing but green. My front door too!

Random questions -

Favourite colour?

I say it’s blue, but I always decorate with green. It’s so soothing.

Favourite food?

My whole life it’s been pizza. I have to save it for special occasions these days, but I still love that first bite. Hmm. Now I’m hungry.

Best childhood memory?

The Christmas I went into the woods and sawed my own little tree down for my play house. I was seven, and my parents had no idea until I had it decorated.

Best ever purchase? Can be something big or small.

I fell off the video game wagon in 2004. PS3 is my favorite escape from stress, and I refuse to feel guilty about it! : )

Best memory as an adult?

The first time I got good reviews. Having a person enjoy my books is still a kick, every single time.

Is there a person, alive or dead, you dream about meeting if you could?

If I weren’t married, I’d say Eric from “True Blood.” Heh heh.

About The Author

I can’t remember a time when I didn’t love books, but two particular memories stay with me. As a young girl I picked up Little Women, read it straight through, and promptly turned to page one to start all over again. The next book I did that with was Mind Hunter by John Douglas, tales about profiling serial killers.

Thus a twisted romantic was born.

Throughout my teenage and young adult years, I read everything from horror to historical romance, yet I never, ever thought of trying to write anything of my own. Write a whole book? Crazy talk.

Then I spent a long, cold winter in a tiny apartment in Germany. My bed was also my living room couch, and I shared it with three cats. After tearing through all the books I had that were written in English, I picked up a pen and opened a door to something I would never have expected to love.

Missing the warmth, the hospitality, and the food of the South, I wrote about those things with a huge dose of family thrown in. I still have a sweet spot in my heart for Southern Moon, but to date, I have not revisited it for submission to my publisher. Time will tell.

As a huge fan of Dan Brown and Nora Roberts, I set off to write a romantic suspense with tons of history-laden backdrops. The She Trilogy is still a work in progress, but only because it was bumped aside by a bunch of sassy witches.

I had an idea about sisters and magic and went to work on the first book of The Savannah Coven Series, Whisper of a Witch. The series is still going strong, and I am grateful every day that I took a chance on paranormal romance, a genre I wasn’t very familiar with and had never actually read before writing it. Now I’m a parajunkie.

I have since joined RWA, and I can’t say enough about this organization. The education and support are unparalleled. I want to say thank you to all of my fellow writers who have offered advice and to my fans who come back for more.

Readers rule!

Review by Crystal Martin

3.5 Stars

I rate this book 3.5 stars. If you aren't deterred by violence and like graphic, steamy stories this is an excellent read for you. I more than liked the book, but at times it was difficult to get through. This wasn't because of the writing, but because of what was going on in the story. This book is very graphic and Elle's husband is a head case. He is very abusive and the abuse is at a physical level that makes it hard to read at times. You can feel her emotional and physical torment.

The story is about making choices and doing what you think is right for a person. The problem is Elle makes these choices for others and it all blows up in her face. This story is about how making the wrong choices has affected not only herself, but all those that she loves around her. The love she and Trevor share started in second grade and never stops for either of them. Though Elle has been through so much in the seventeen years that they've been apart TJ just might be the man to make her whole again. She feels worthless and tainted and with everything she has been through it's easy to see why.

It's amazing that at the end you actually feel a little badly for Bear. We find out what motivated him to be the way he was. In his sick twisted mind this was his coping. I do wish that we would have found out what made Bear so jealous of TJ though. We never fully find out what prompted him to end up hating his best friend so much. I'm glad it had a happy ending for Elle. After being through so much, she needs a happily ever after.

I don't want to give anything away, this book was a good length at 339 pages on kindle. There are minimal mistakes in it, though it did get hard flipping from the past to the present at times. There was so much going on in present day that some of the flashbacks seemed ill timed and I just wanted to know how things would end up. I liked that it mentioned a lot of the music from this time period. It made it more nostalgic.

I received a copy of this book for an honest review.

Three of Hearts by W. Ferraro

Reviewer: Clairey Lovell

Stars: 4

Erm, wow. This book is hot, very hot, but also very sweet. It had me hooked from the word go and I can I just say I am actually in love with the cover! This is book 1 of the Hamden series and if the first one is anything to go by, I’ll be in haven by the end of the series! Ferraro is an amazing writer who literally has you hooked from the word go! I can’t remember the last book I read where the male lead annoyed me so much but also made me swoon so bad. But we will get to that bit.

This book follows Mae (or sweet Mae as she is affectionately known) and her new life. One of the nicest parts of this book is that Mae is just Mae. She is independent, doesn’t come with a suitcase full of baggage, she’s just her. And she is amazing! It all starts with a viewing of the most beautiful apartment she had ever seen, miraculously she can afford it and the fact that the owner happens to be drop dead gorgeous is just an added bonus! Seth is…*Sigh* an amazing man. Not only is he bringing up 3 wonderful children and running his own company, he’s also harbouring a lot of heart ache. And that’s part of what makes this book so special. It wasn’t about replacing something lost, it was about finding a new path and it was so beautifully written. But..and there is a BIG but here…. There are times were I actually wanted to crawl into the book and slap Seth for being such an ass. But he definitely made up for it on more than one occasion by being such a sweetheart so I kind of forgive him.

This is one not to miss 100%. It’s romantic; it’s suspenseful and so hot. I’m thoroughly looking forward to more from this amazing writer!!

2) Three of Spades by W. Ferraro

Reviewer: Clairey Lovell

Stars: 5

Oh wow.. I think I just fell in love. Ferraro certainly knows how to turn your world upside down a bit!

This book follows the amazing characters Natalie and Dylan. Dylan, the male lead we briefly met in the previous book Three of Hearts. I’m so glad he got his own book because this was such a good read! Natalie’s life is described by her mother as dull and boring. And it’s oh so true. Natalie spends her days working and caring for her terminally ill mother. Something she doesn’t and has never considered a Burdon. Her mother is such a sweet character I personally loved her! But she’s worried that her daughter spends too much time looking after her and not worrying about herself. That’s why she suggests that Natalie go out and get a life and put’s her in a residential care home to do so. Natalie is horrified at this idea to say the least and this is where Dylan comes in ;) Dylan is the definition of a ladies’ man and when Natalie LITERALLY walks straight into him, she decides he is the person she’s been looking for. Not to settle down and marry….Oh no, to show her the way around a bed room. But she has a condition, He has to pretend to be her boyfriend to her amazing mother. This may seem like a strange thing to ask of someone you’ve LITERALLY only just met, but for Natalie it’s her only choice.

There was no messing around in this book. Ferraro got straight to the point and my god it was amazing (And way hotter than the first book), it’s just so well written. The plot line is original and it is adorable to watch the lines blurring between these wonderful characters! The fact Seth and Mae, the characters from book 1, popped up make me so happy. This book has been one of my highlights for 2013! I’m so looking forward to reading book three <3

3: Three of Diamonds by W. Ferraro

Reviewer: Clairey Lovell

Stars: 4

Ok you remember when you picked up 50 shades for the first time and thought, oh this looks good!! So you sit on the tube reading it and your steadily thinking, “Oh my god, I can’t read this in public!”. This is how Three of Diamonds had me and I LOVED it! I was happily sat in the hair dressers reading away and generally loving life when it hit me. That’s the best part of this book. It gets into it STRAIGHT away. No messing or digging around, Ferraro throws you right on in the deep end.

This book follows Miss Lola when an accidental job offer lands her in a very strange situation! (I’ll leave you to discover that bit yourself… amazing). And this is possibly the strangest job in the world. The more Lola discovers about her new place of work the less she starts to enjoy it. What she did enjoy however was the view of a sex god named, Wes. Wes sort of reminds me of a more lovable Christian Grey, the second he saw Lola she became like an obsession with him and that was incredibly cute. Especially as Lola honestly wants nothing to do with him! Lola has too much going on in her own world to be worrying about sex gods, namely her little brother Boyd. Cutest character ever and really is the glue of this book. Boyd has Downs and because of this Lola is heavily into volunteering at his local children’s centre. And this is really how Lola and Wes meet in real life, start to bond, fall in love and have the hottest sex ever!!

I won’t spoil anything else for you but I really loved the fact you got to see a little of the other characters from the previous 2 books. It was a lovely ending to a prefect series. Ferraro is such an amazing writer you would be a fool to miss the conclusion to this amazing series. Secretly hoping there is more.
