Exclusive Excerpt: I pulled off the main road of Paige’s home and slipped my truck into park. An overwhelming sense of relief filled me when I saw she’d made it home safely. All the lights were off, and nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary. Except the lonely ache I felt inside. I’d barely ate or slept in four days. But in this moment, I just wanted Paige, nothing else mattered. The thought of her sleeping alone in her bed without me combined with the desperate need to feel her body against mine had me slouching forward and resting my forehead against the steering wheel. I closed my eyes briefly, and muttered, “Don’t do it, idiot,” as I fought the impulse to go to her. I could practically feel her heart beating—her soul calling to mine—I was that connected to her. I was a starved man, yearning to have her in my arms. Before I was able to stop myself, I was striding across her front lawn, feeling an internal pull to be with her. I went around to the backside of the house and tapped on her window. While standing there my attention fell to the grass, and all of the reasons why this was a bad idea oppressed me. I shouldn’t be here. Staying away from Paige was the only way I could protect her. I couldn’t let Hank see how deeply mine and Paige’s love went for one another, or he could possibly take his animosity for me out on her. And if Hank hurt Paige in any way, it would be game over—there was no telling what I would do. She was my weakness and my strength all rolled into one, right around my heart. Just as I was about to walk away and let Paige be, a dim light flickered on. The white curtain covering the window pane was drawn to the side, and I lifted my gaze. Paige stood before me staring through the clear glass, dressed in a long white tee. The conflicting emotions in her beautifully brown eyes reflected the way I felt inside, and it caused my heart to thump unevenly. She lifted the window and then leaned forward while wrapping her fingers around the window frame, peering down at me. “Colton,” she breathed my name, and I was uncertain if it was meant as a greeting or a question. “Can I come in?” I queried, getting straight to the point before I came up with reasons to force myself to leave her be. “Yes.” She stepped aside. I braced my palms on the bottom ledge and hoisted myself upward. My right shoulder hit the window framing as the upper half of my body made it inside her room. I hadn’t crawled through this window in ages, but the damn thing seemed smaller. I lowered my feet to the ground and stood tall before briefly turning to close the window at my back. When I faced the room again, Paige was at the edge of her bed. She sat down and nestled herself under the comforter. When her eyes met mine, she grasped the corner of the blanket and lifted it as though a silent invitation. Without a single sound, I slipped off my boots and went to her. Once climbing in next to her, she let the comforter gradually fall over me and stretched over to the nightstand where she turned off the light. Then, she settled back down on her right hip, her back toward me. I could feel her hesitation as she tried to distance herself from me. To feel that kind of uncertainty pouring out of her was the same as someone cracking open my chest and grabbing ahold of my heart. But in truth, I couldn’t blame her for feeling this way, because it was my fault for being hot and cold all over the place. It wasn’t fair to her. Desperately craving her warmth and needing to know that we were okay even though it was wrong of me to do so, my arm came to the center of her stomach, and in slow motion, I hauled her into my chest. She didn’t fight me. I outstretched one arm above her head and rested my cheek on my bicep while scooting closer till my nose rested against her hair, so I could inhale the sweet scent of her. With my other hand still at her center, I began to methodically rub tiny circles on her abdomen with the pad of my thumb. Her breathing increased with every full loop. My eyes began to fall heavy with the weight of the last few days. I was so damn tired, but lying here with Paige—just like this—was all I ever wanted. “Colton?” she asked suddenly out of the blue. “Yeah?” Her hand came to my wrist and she caressed it softly. “What are you doing here?” Paige couldn’t have asked me a tougher question, and I bit back the defeat I felt inside. I didn’t hold the answer she was looking for. Instead, I made light of the situation, hoping to make her smile. “Sneaking in your window. Which shrunk drastically in size over the years, by the way.” A quiet laughter seeped out of her, and I found myself genuinely smiling for the first time in days. She rotated to face me and set her hand on my chest. “It didn’t shrink. You have—” She skimmed her palm across my chest up to my shoulder—“broadened, so you don’t fit through it as well as you used to.” “Maybe,” I grinned mischievously. In that instant, so many childhood reminiscences with Paige flashed through my mind, all of them filling my soul with sense of peace. As a teen, there had been countless nights where I longed to see her so I’d go to her house and knock on her window. Paige would come outside, and we would lay in the grass for hours, watching the stars. Even in the midst of my darkest days, those memories could bring a smile to my face. It was her that kept me going. An unexplainable calm tranquility settled over me at having Paige’s body pressed against mine. She gave me hope I’d find myself again, and she made me believe someday I could let go of the hate and revenge I carried inside of me. A profound tiredness took over me from the build-up of the past several happenings, and I was losing the will power to keep my eyes open. Paige rose her hand to touch my cheek, caressing it. Her skin was so soft. “Colton?” she repeated my name, softer this time. I gazed down at her. “Yeah?” The movement of my thumb paused on her stomach from the intensity burning in her eyes. “You know that’s not the answer I was looking for…” “No, it wasn’t,” I agreed, knowing she deserved an honest explanation. “I don’t know why I’m here, only that I didn’t have the strength to stay away, so please, just let me hold you.” “Okay.” She set her finger on my lower lip and gently ran it back and forth. Then, she leaned in and softly kissed the corner of my mouth. “Goodnight, cowboy.” “Night,” was all I had time to say before sleep carried me away.

I HEART BOOKS REVIEW

Boundless Fate (Fate for Love #2) by Alicia Rae
Review by Theresa Esterline
Stars: 5

Their love is growing by leaps and bounds...

Colton and Paige are back again!! I love this couple and all the antics they go through.  You will laugh, cry and love these two.  Note, this review has spoilers for book one... if you haven't read Enduring Fate yet, go do that first, then come back and read this.  And now a bit about the story...

I was heartbroken at the end of the first book when Colton pushed Paige away to protect her from this evil Hank.  Luckily Paige is made of strong stuff and she refused to be pushed away! Except the way she decides to help puts her at risk, luckily Colton catches her and things just heat up from there as they try to catch Hank in his lies.

Favorite passages:
 - She was my weakness and my strength all rolled into one, right around my heart.
 - “Fate brought us together long ago, and no pompous asshat is going to take you away from me.”
 - “Blood is of no significance when it comes to brotherhood or family.”
 - “I should have known you wouldn’t be practical. Your glass isn’t half empty or half full. It’s overflowing.”

You are my everything...

This story has comedy, tragedy, a strong heroine, and a sexy cowboy - what more could you need! I stayed up way past by bedtime to finish this book early this morning!! March will bring spring (which I can't wait for) and the next book in the series -- Woo Hoo!! And now a bit about the story...

After a tragic accident both Paige pulls away from Colton. She is worried that she will never have the same life she did before and she doesn't want to hold him back. Falling in love at 5 was hard for these too and risky - as they will do anything for the other... but will everything be enough?

Favorite passages:
- THIS TOO SHALL PASS
- “The kind of love we share never dims or fades.” He brushed his lips along mine. When my breath caught, he whispered, “It’s the kind of love that lasts forever.”
- “Knowing she would sacrifice her passion for a bump in the road would break my heart.”
- “All I ask is that you step out of your boundaries and take a chance.”

Derek The muscle in my jaw clenches hard, but my voice stays calm. “Open the door, Melissa.” “No.” I step back ready to snap that chain with a swift kick, when she pushes it closed and the noise of that f**king deadbolt sounds again. “God dammit!” I shout as I shove my key back into the lock. I’m turning it open when I hear scraping noises on the other side. This time when I push against the wood, it doesn’t move at all. Resting my forehead against the door, I take another deep breath, fighting for control. “Please let me in.” “You promised!” She yells from the other side. “You looked in my eyes and promised.” “Baby, I didn’t know how serious this was.” “I won’t hear any more lies from you. Take your shit and leave. It’s over.” She’s crying now, and all semblance of control I had is gone. This is not happening. Stepping back, I hit the door with my shoulder as hard as I can. A low growl escapes my throat on impact. The door doesn’t budge. “Open the door,” I repeat. Again, she says, “No.” Stepping back, I kick it with the sole of my foot. The doorjamb shudders, but it doesn’t give. “Don’t make me call the police,” she shouts from the other side. That nearly sends me into a rage. My shoulders are rapidly rising and falling as I step back and survey this situation. The woman I love has thrown me out and is now threatening the cops on me. Am I having some kind of f**king bad dream? The only possible way I might get in the house comes to mind. “I want to see Dex.” She’s angry, yes, but if we can look at each other, talk it out… Maybe she needs to yell at me. I can listen, hear what she needs to say, and everything can go back to normal. “I’ll talk to my mom. We’ll work out a schedule for you to visit him.” My fist is pounding on the wood before I even realize what I’m doing. This is f**king idiotic, and I need to get on the other side of this f**king door and hold Melissa in my arms. “Stop it!” I can hear the break in her voice, and it rips me apart. “You’re scaring Dex.” Breathing hard, I rest my head against the wood again. Looking to the side, I can see the cracks that have formed around the doorjamb from my attempts to break it down. Sound filters through the spaces easily. The noise of my Melissa crying is just on the other side. I can’t take this. “Melissa.” This time I’m pleading with her. “Please open the door.” “No.” She says softly, between sniffles. My heart is twisting in my chest. “What do you want me to do, baby? Just tell me what to do.” “I want you to go away.” Her voice shakes as she says the words. “I can’t do that.” I’m breathing hard now. “I love you.” “Not enough to keep your promise.” “I love you more than enough.” Gripping the wooden frame, I fight my emotions. “Let me in.” “I’m done talking. Take your bags and go.” Noises on the other side sound like Dex whining. I hear her go to him and attempt to soothe him. Stepping back, I look at the windows and consider breaking one of them. For several long seconds, I visualize myself doing it. I look around the perimeter and see every place I can force my way inside, go in there and gather her in my arms, make her stop saying these things. But I don’t. It would scare Dex, it would anger Mel… It would only make things harder for me. Instead I do what she asks. Ice is in the pit of my stomach as I pick up my duffel and the largest suitcase and carry them to my car. Popping the trunk, I put them inside and go back for the remaining two.

To make matters worse the 'never fall in love' motto I had all of my life just flew out the window at the worst time possible as I find myself torn between two men. What do you do when your heart is pulling you in one direction but your head is pulling you in another?

I can’t help but fear that all of my life before this moment was just the calm before the storm…

I HEART BOOKS REVIEW

Heart of Dixon (Brooklyn #2) by Danielle Jamie
Review by Theresa Esterline
Stars: 5

The heart knows what it wants...

To bad these two are so set on ignoring their hearts. In book two the frustration and passion between Dixon and Brooklyn just continues to grow. Between the passion, drama, and outrageous statements about relationship, or lack of one ;) And now a bit about the story...

Dixon and Brooklyn have just flown back from LA as Savannah is in the hospital after her attack. Dixon is freaked out because not only did he fly to see Brooklyn, but she melted into him looking for comfort. In a effort to push her away, he turns to his man whore ways. They fight the pull to each other as problem after problem rears its ugly head. Not only do they have to watch out for crazy Zak who is trying to get even, but they have other crazies to contend with to...

Favorite passages:
- You go from one moment living on the high we call life and the next you find yourself free falling through the clouds praying to God you don’t end up splattered all over the concrete below. Some of us get lucky and sprout wings—while others meet their fate down below.
- ‘Not all that wander are lost.’
- “We only get one life to live so make it epic!”

I HEART BOOKS REVIEW

Wasted Love (Brooklyn #1) by Danielle Jamie
Review by Theresa Esterline
Stars: 5

From fun and flirty to hot and steamy in no time ;)

I've missed Brooklyn, she is fun, sassy, and knows what she wants. At least she has known for the last 5 years. Dixon has her wanting and feeling things she's not sure she wants to feel... Brooklyn's series starts about the same time as Savannah's story does and I love re-reading bits of the story from Brooklyn and Dixon's POV. I'd even forgotten some parts so I was surprised when they happened! The only bad park is now I have to wait until early next year for book #2... I read all of the Savannah books back to back. And now a bit about the story...

Brooklyn is an up and coming actress and Savannah is her best friend. When Savannah moves to Galveston, Texas to be near her boyfriend Kayden Knox, Brooklyn decides to move with her and just fly in for her movie shoots as needed. Next Brooklyn wants to snag herself a Texas cowboy! After hooking up with Xander, the lead singer of Slither Tongue, and Jax, Knox's Australian bodyguard and friend, she still wants Dixon, Knox's cousin. She is thinking he should be off limits, but that only makes the attraction stronger. Will she waste this opportunity to love?

Favorite passages:
- I take in the five guys at the table; four of them attractive. I definitely wouldn't turn them away if I accidentally discovered one of the naked in a guest room while roaming around this place.
- And this feeling of jealousy? I hate it. I don't do jealous. I'm not a fucking chick, for Christ's sake.
- "You can touch me, you know. I don't bite...well, not unless you ask me to first."
- 'Not all who wander are lost.'
- What the hell is wrong with me? Did I go to sleep with a dick and wake up with a fricking vagina? I don't feel shit. Girls feel; I just fuck.
- I can't wait to see which Dixon is at this party: fun and flirty Dixon, or dickhead Dixon.

Amazon Bestselling Author and a mother of 3 wonderful kids. Madison 11 Bailey 6 and Finn 3. I run a successful online boutique, Bailey Booper’s Boutique; many of my items featured on Teen Mom 2.
I live in a small town in NY with my husband of 11 years, enjoying my happily ever after. My perfect day is spending time at the beach, I love the Ocean. I’m an outdoorsy type of girl; every chance I get I’m outside walking or running around with my kids.

I have been writing for as long as I can remember but I finally decide to pursue my dreams of sharing my stories with the world when I published my first Novel Irresistible Desire back in March 2013.
