Vodka should come with a warning:

Mixing with Karaoke will make you do stupid shit, like sing that song you wrote when you were fourteen, about the boy who broke your heart.

At least he didn’t see it.

Oh wait. He did.

I should've just stayed home. The only reason I came was to stop Lily from doing something stupid, like crash her ex-boyfriend's wedding.

When I open my hotel room door to find Adam standing there, that sexy smirk tells me he’s hasn’t changed. He’s still the same arrogant asshole who made my childhood hell.

He insists on driving us home, and while he’s the last person I want to be around, he and I both know it’s a bad idea for Lily to be anywhere near that wedding.

I’m on the road trip from hell with my heartbroken cousin, and the one guy I can’t stand.

What was I thinking?

Excerpt

It’s five in the morning and I’m still awake. I’m bordering on delirium, because I’m so tired, but I just can’t get to sleep. I’ve tried listening to music, clearing my mind, counting backward … nothing is working.
There’s still one thing I haven’t tried
I hold my breath, listening to the sound of his breathing as I creep my hand under the blankets and down over my stomach. I freeze when he stirs, but he doesn’t wake up. My heart pounds as I focus on the sound of his breathing and nothing else.
My body tenses as a part my legs, just enough to slide a finger along my entrance. I hold my breath, the air catching my throat, then I quickly exhale as I slide a finger inside myself. I close my eyes and concentrate as I massage my clit, trying so hard not to make a sound.
What would it feel like to kiss him?
I sigh, imagining his lips brushing over mine, while I rake my hands over that thick, uneven stubble. I swallow, my pussy aching as I tease myself, imagining my fingers sliding over his muscular chest.
I work myself faster and harder as my body reacts. The soft lapping of my finger sounds a thousand times louder than it really is. I gasp as my finger slides deeper inside me. I want to scream, but I can’t, so I force the sound back down my throat and ride the last of my climax out in total silence, all while still imagining his hands on me. It’s torture and bliss at the same time.
Holy fuck.
I stare at the ceiling, unable to do anything other than lie there, listening to my heart pounding in my chest. I kick off the blankets, my skin all hot and sweaty. Then I smile and swallow a giggle. That was incredible. I’ve never experienced a rush quite like that before.
Snuggling into my pillow, I sigh. I’m so close to asleep …
And then I hear that familiar chuckle.
Fuck.
I hold my breath, not trusting myself to do anything other than lie there and panic. I slowly relax when he doesn’t react. He’s asleep. It’s fine. I imagined it. I breathe out and then close my eyes. Just as I finally feel like I’m going to fall asleep, his sleepy voice cuts through the silence. I lie there, holding my breath, my eyes wide open.
“Feels good to be naughty, doesn’t it, Katie?”
His sleepy voice cuts through the silence. I don’t answer, because I can’t.
“Next time you do that? I’ll be participating.”

How dare he!

Crazy hilarious romantic comedy.  School day crushes turn to enemies and then are forced together.  Throw in a road trip between Vegas and Seattle, dangerous drug lords, hitch hikers, an ex getting remarried and it is a rip roaring good time.  And now a bit about the story...

Katie used to have the biggest crush on Adam.  She even wrote him a love song at 14.  Then the unthinkable happens, he turns into a jerk and she can't stand him.  Years later at a karaoke bar she is drunk and sings the song.  Her also drunk cousin records it and sends it to her entire contact list, which of course Adam sees.  Now the two are trying to keep said cousin safe, retaliating against each other, oh and sharing a few hotel rooms.  Can't wait to see the sparks fly when they give in!!

Favorite passages:
 - “Can’t sleep?” I ask. “No. Too wound up, I guess.”  “There’s a button you can press for that.” I can’t resist baiting her, even if it lands me back on the floor. “I can show you where it is, if you like.”
 - “Feels good to be naughty, doesn’t it, Katie?” His sleepy voice cuts through the silence. I don’t answer, because I can’t. “Next time you do that? I’ll be participating.”

It's Complicated (Awkward Love #1) by Missy Johnson
Review by Theresa Esterline
Stars: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

A rip roarin' good time!!

Standalone romantic comedy. Full of lots of pounds and awkward and hilarious moments. Hard, pun intended, to put down. I started and finished same day! No tissues needed... well unless you are Ms. Henderson. Anyway back to the review. This story is well thought out, very descriptive, and extremely relatable!! Even though you know you shouldn't you can just picture yourself following in Anna's footsteps. And now a bit about the story...

Anna's mother left when she was very young. Now she's in college and her father's dating life is more exciting than hers. That is until she looks out her window one night. There is her hot neighbor, Nick, stripping out of his clothes. She knows she should turn away, but she can't. She has to see if the rumors are true. Not only is he older, but he's also her dad's best friend. She shouldn't keep watching right? But then he catches her in the act... no what'll she do!!!

Favorite passages:
- “I mean, I do have a big load, but so long as I keep on top of it…”
- I was beginning to feel like Cinderella, only it wasn’t a shoe I was trying to squeeze into.

I Can Explain ... (Awkward Love #2) by Missy Johnson
Review by Theresa Esterline
Stars: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The truth will set you free...

Standalone office romance / romantic comedy. This story has many awkward and hilarious moments. If it were a movie they would likely all be in the trailer ;) And I'm sure a few have happened to someone out there... like the time you land on your boss balcony in your underwear! A little frustrating at times with the lack of communication, but then if they just were HEA from the beginning we wouldn't have a story. And now a bit about the story...

Alana works for Chase's assistant. She's a recent college grad and her duties include fetching dry cleaning and coffee. She knows she could learn so much from Chase, if only he'd notice her. As the two get to know each other better Alana's responsibilities increase. Now to see if she's up to the challenge, can you really keep business and pleasure separate?

Favorite passage: My reaction decides how big this is, which means I can end this before it even begins.

Too Much Information (Awkward Love #3) by Missy Johnson
Review by Theresa Esterline
Stars: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The poor girl in cubical number nine!

OMG! So many hilarious situations Laura gets herself into!! This review title reminds me of the song love potion number nine... though I do not recommend trying this to find love ;) Though this is book three in the series they can be read in any order, no characters in this one from the first two. And now a bit about the story...

Imagine being ready to start your new job, but being in need of those services and embarrassingly so. Laura decides to go out of her way to get to a hospital and see a doctor. Luke is not only the doctor who sees her, he's staying with his best friend (her brother), is starting work at the same hospital she is next week, and as it happens even ends up staying at her place. Now how will the two manage and how can she keep the cubicle girl story from getting out...

Favorite passages:
- “I’m getting a really good vibe from you, Laura. I think I’m really going to get a buzz out of talking with you tonight.”
- “You mean you wanted to make sure I wasn't decomposing on the floor?”
- But the thing about life is that nothing is ever really forever. It’s only forever until it’s not.
- “I hear there are some great sex toys on the market you might want to test out.”

Too Much Information (Awkward Love #3) by Missy Johnson
Review by Theresa Esterline
Stars: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Off the charts awkward...

This is a hilarious tale with some of the most embarrassing moments you can think of... From your professor telling you he's been reading the instant messages you've sent taking about your sexual fantasies staring him to your mother offering to let you try out her sex swing!! Full of strong and lovable characters. Grammy fighting with her dementia and desire for satisfaction, Andrew the cat who's allergic to shellfish, the professor motorboating the stripper, her mother being attacked by a multitude of tiny Pac Man style penis, and it just goes on and on. Doesn't that sound like the best trailer you've seen in a while? And now a bit about the story...

Becca seems to have one embarrassing thing happen to her after the other. If you've read the other Awkward Love stories, you'll remember her as Laura's friend that bought the sex toy gift card. Anyhow, now she's in vet school and lusting after her professor. The only problem, besides the obvious, that he knows and is at the bachelor party she holds for her best friend and can't remember a thing about the night. Luckily she finds some evidence on social media and the internet, but it doesn't answer all her questions and gets her in hot water too.

Tequila, it can be your best friend AND your worst enemy at the same time!! I hope you enjoy and LAUGH like I did!!!

Favorite passages:
- “It only takes one mistake to ruin everything.”
- Confidence is usually something I have in spades, but when it comes to guys, all bets are off.
- “Relax, I’m far from intoxicated,” she assures me. “Then it must have been my charm that had you stumbling at my feet.”
- “What’s her name? Ellery? She sounds like a freaking vegetable.”
