Review of Soul Taken by Katlyn Duncan

Maggie is a soul collector who has certain ways of gaining the souls she is sent to find. She has been looking for a promotion, however, to the Guards but has been passed over for someone she tried to train.

On the same day she finds this out she is sent on a special mission to search for a special soul. In the process Maggie finds herself thrust into the body of the girl she has been following, unable to get back out and unaware as to how this happened.

Maggie has to try and figure out why this has happened to her, but at the same time search for the soul of the body she is inhabiting.

Along the way she discovers that everything happens for a reason, and that reason dates far back in her life. She has been put inside this body for a very specific reason. Can Maggie figure out a way to not only save herself, but also save the young girl she was sent for?

This is a well written story, and one which is different from others of the same genre. I was worried that it would appear similar to others I have read, but no. The story was one which captured my interest very quickly, and the questions it threw up throughout its pages had me puzzled right up until the answers were given. I will watch with interest for future stories from this author.

 

 

About the Author

Katlyn Duncan was born and raised in a small town in western Massachusetts. Her overactive imagination involved invisible friends, wanting to be a Disney Princess and making up her own stories. Her bibliophile mom always encouraged her love of reading and that stayed with her since. Even though she works full time in the medical field Katlyn has always made time for books, whether she is reading or writing them.

Katlyn now lives in southern Connecticut with her husband and adorable Wheaten Terrier and she is thrilled to finally share her stories with the world.
