ABOUT WANDERLUST:

They say Paris is always a good idea...

You know what I say? Paris would be a much better idea if I spoke the dang language. I can't even board the metro to visit the Louvre without ending up at the Moulin Rouge, and let's not even mention how I'll ever make it through a day at my new office.

Fortunately my company hooks me up with my own personal translator. Ooh la la. Or should I say bloody hell? Because he's charming, witty, and British, and he brings the city to life for me. Soon, I can order a croque monsieur hold the ham, discuss perfume with my co-workers, and barter at the outdoor market. I can also tell the sexy Brit by my side how much I want him to kiss me under the streetlamps.

Except there's a catch - Paris might be all we have.

***

One more assignment before I can take off on my big adventure...

And it's a good farewell gig too since my newest client is a fetching American who loves to explore the cafes and cobbled streets while I teach her the language of love. We fall into a fast and flirty friendship, but Paris has a way of making lovers out of friends, and soon we're spending our nights together too - très risqué. The trouble is, my wanderlust is calling to me, and soon I'll be traveling the globe to fulfill a promise I made long ago.

What could possibly go wrong with falling in love in Paris? Nothing...unless one of you is leaving.

*Includes a special bonus interview with the author!*

Review: Winner Takes All: A Billionaire Daddy Second Chance Romance

Winner Takes All: A Billionaire Daddy Second Chance Romance Winner Takes All: A Billionaire Daddy Second Chance Romance by Lexi Whitlow
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The lottery... is it a tax for those hoping to win big, a fun way to entertain yourself for a few bucks, or a curse...

As it turns out it really depends if you win or lose. First you have to play, then if you do win, after the government gets their taxes, the crazies come out of the wood work. In this story, this second chance couple has both the aid and burden of the lottery winnings. It is fast paced, humorous, with a few twists, and very passionate. And now a bit about the story...

Logan was the high school and college quarterback all the ladies loved and the men wanted to be. Until he didn't make it to the NFL. Now he is home working as a mechanic a few classes short of his degree. His boss is awful, his hands covered in grease each day, but he loves what he does. Money is tight and one night he decides to forego pizza night for even more lottery tickets. Bryn is a former cheerleader turned lawyer working at her dad's firm. She was the one woman who never threw herself at Logan. Instead she told him to call when he made it to the NFL. Another chance he lost... But it looks like he picked the right numbers, maybe this will turn his life around...

Favorite passage: As it turned out, life doesn’t work out the way you think it will when you’re seventeen years-old and you believe the world is your oyster to crack open.

Savage Prince (Savage Trilogy #1) by Meghan March *~*~*~*~* Cover Reveal & Pre-Order

Who knew things could get even darker and dirtier in New Orleans? New York Times bestselling author Meghan March introduces the Savage Prince of the city, the man you never want to meet.

I do what I want and who I want. I don’t follow anyone’s rules—even my own. I knew I shouldn’t touch her, but it didn’t stop me. Didn’t stop me the second time either. Only made me want a third. My lifestyle suits the savage I am, and she doesn’t. But Temperance Ransom is my newest addiction, and I’m nowhere near ready to quit her yet. I’ll have her my way, even if it means dragging her into the darkness. Hopefully it doesn’t kill us both.

Savage Prince is book one of the Savage Trilogy, set in the same world as Ruthless King, however you do not need to read the Mount Trilogy to devour this scandalously hot new story.

I Heart Books Review

Living Out Loud by Staci Hart
Review by Theresa Esterline
Stars: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Be loud!!

Have you ever just wished the two characters you are reading about could read each other's thoughts? Ugh! But of course, what fun would that be to read... This one is sad, comical, frustrating, heartfelt, and exciting!! It will be okay if you haven't read Last Call (Bad Habits #3) and Wasted Words (Austen's #1), but if you have you'll have background on Greg and know some of the gang. And now a bit about the story...

Annie adult life is just starting. She hasn't really ever lived and now her father is dead and her mother is paralyzed. She's 18 and off to New York City with her mom and two sisters to live with her aunt and uncle. She has a book of firsts she can't wait to accomplish. Greg isn't on her list though. And when she falls for another before she really sees him, finishing her list may become impossible.

Favorite passages:
- “He’d tell us to find joy every day, to hang on to each other, to turn our faces to the sun and warm ourselves with hope.”
- Maybe a rabid poodle, coiffed with a ridiculous haircut meant to make her look fancy. Because it was painfully clear that Fanny thought she was fancy. But it was hard to take her seriously when she was foaming at the mouth.
- “And she only needed two stitches.”
- “You know that old saying, If you have to ask yourself the question, the answer is probably no?”
- I’d expected magic, and I’d gotten mediocre. I shouldn’t have been disappointed, but I was.
- “In life, all things are temporary.” “That’s both futile and comforting.”
- I also discovered that running was the actual worst and vowed never to do it again unless someone was after me with a weapon.

Title: Free Fall

Author: Emily Goodwin

Genre: Contemporary Romance

About Free Fall:

I’ll never forget the first time I saw Nora Fisher. The way my heart sped up in my chest and blood rushed through every part of me. I was drawn to her the moment our eyes met. She was beautiful. Guarded. Damaged. Just like me. I never meant to hurt the only woman I’ve ever loved. She was light, and I was dark, casting shadows on everything around me. Letting her go meant spiraling back into the darkness only Nora could pull me from. But I’d sacrifice myself a thousand times for her. Four years later, she’s back, and the passion she ignites makes the fight for her stronger. But the more I try to make things right, the more I realize how complicated things have become. And now I'm starting to see that maybe her light was never meant to be mine. Free Fall is a standalone, contemporary romance.

Exclusive Excerpt:

Still, the thought of getting naked with Jack scares me as much as it exhilarates me. I want to make him feel. I want to make him happy. “I want to,” I whisper, feeling the spark bust into a wildfire. “Stop,” he growls and sits up. “Not now. Not here.” He doesn’t have to explain it for me to understand. Things won’t end with a kiss. I take my hand from his side and interlock our fingers again. I move up and lean against the wall, looking through the cut-out window at the stars. He tightens the grip on my hand. “How do you do it?” “Do what?” “Keep going like there’s a light at the end of the tunnel.” “Because there has to be. I’m scared of the dark, and the only way to get back to the light is to keep going. Even when the light is fading, and things seem impossible. You just keep going.” “Don’t you ever want to give up?” I’m nothing but honest. I don’t need to hold up a front around Jack. “Yes. Especially lately. But what good would that do? My grandma used to tell me ‘you can’t lose if you’re trying’, and I never really got it before. I guess it’s kinda like losing a battle but not the war, and the only person you’re truly at war with is yourself.” “I never thought of it that way.” “Mimi had a unique way of looking at the world. She was tough. The strongest person I’ve ever known. My grandpa died like a year and a half before my mom. She lost her husband and then her daughter so close together. And then had to take in a six-year-old.” “You’re tough too.” “So are you.” Jack shakes his head. “No. I’m not.” “What you did was so brave.” “Being brave and being tough are different. The toughness comes after you did that brave thing. And I…I’ve given up.” He trains his eyes on mine, airing his vulnerabilities. “I didn’t see the point in trying to find the light again.” “Do you see the point now?” “I see you.” Jack’s brow furrows, jaw tensing. He’s fighting against his emotions, and I want him to lose. I want him to give in to me, even though I shouldn’t. I can’t help it.

Escape (Getaway #3) by Jay Crownover *~*~*~*~* Blog Tour, Full Series Review & Giveaway

New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author Jay Crownover returns with the third standalone title in her Getaway series, ESCAPE. Check out the review below, and pick up your copy today!

About ESCAPE:

Everything inside of him is screaming that he needs to run, he needs to go, he needs to escape.

Lane Warner is used to being overshadowed and overlooked.

After all, he’s the youngest brother and the most laid back one in the family. He’s the one known for going with the flow and not making waves, even when things seem to be at their worst.
Very few things in life have had the ability to rile Lane up and get under his skin. At the top of that list is his childhood friend Brynn Fox…no…Brynn Warner. The fact that they share a last name was the one thing that has the power to light him up and spin him out of control like no other. There was no calm, cool and collected when it comes to all the reasons why Brynn had to become part of his family.
It’s slowly killing him to keep wanting what he can’t have, so Lane sees only one way to stop himself from doing something they’ll both regret…he has to leave. Everything inside of her is calling out to find him, to follow, to bring him home.
Brynn Warner is used to being stuck between a rock and a hard place.
After all, she’s the daughter of an unrepentant gold-digger who never once blinked at being the cause of her daughter’s pain and suffering.
Very few things in her life have ever brought happiness and a sense of security. At the very top of that list is Lane Warner. She has unwaveringly loved the youngest Warner since the first minute she laid eyes on him. He was everything Brynn ever wanted and everything she knew she could never have.
Sometimes the right choice is the one that hurts the most and Brynn’s had to make a few that felt like they might be the end of her. When Lane takes off, one thing is clear, the only choice Brynn has is to go after him.

She’s going to bring her wayward cowboy home….whatever it takes.

Escape is a standalone novel, the third book in the Getaway series, which features the hardheaded and brokenhearted Warner brothers and the women who dare to love them. These boys are very good at putting the wild in wilderness.

Brynn
For the first time in days, it felt like my world was set back to rights.
Everything was crooked and off center the minute Lane walked out of the house in Wyoming and disappeared. I couldn’t think straight. Every step I took was wobbly and unsteady. From the moment I opened my eyes, to the second I fell into a fitful sleep at night, it was like I saw things through a grainy black and white filter. There was no color in any of my days when Lane was gone. There was no joy or light. There was only a massive void where I knew I should be able to feel my heart hurting and my soul suffering, the way they always did when it came to the youngest Warner, but when he left there was nothing.
I thought I knew what it felt like to have everything inside of me freeze and shatter. When word came that Lane had been shot while trying to protect his niece from a madman hell-bent on destroying everything that was important to Sutton, I was sure I would never be able to breathe or feel again. That icy pain, that frigid fear had nothing on the numbness that followed when Lane walked out the door seconds after Jack dropped to his knee. At that moment, I knew I was supposed to focus on the man asking me to share his life with him, the one who wanted me for me, and not because he was driven by some chivalrous need to save me from my messed up family and tumultuous home life.
But I hadn’t been focused on Jack. All I could see was the resignation and regret flashing through Lane’s pale blue eyes. We were both reliving the moment another man had asked me to marry him. Only that time, Lane hadn’t been able to escape the outcome. He’d been reminded of it for years, every waking moment when I’d technically held the title of his stepmom. I was something neither one of us could get away from no matter how hard we tried. It was amazing how much one little yes could change everything.
Now that he was standing in front of me, looking much thinner and more haggard than he had even when he came home from the hospital, I finally felt like I could inhale again. Everything that was fuzzy and blurred around the edges pulled back into sharp focus. I could look at the sky behind his tousled head and see that it was the same stormy blue as his eyes. I could also focus on the lines of tension and stress radiating out of the corners of those eyes and the bruised, dark hollows underneath them. Without him, nothing felt like it mattered. There was no home. There was no peace of mind. There was no safety and security.
When he was close, the littlest things felt hugely important and essential. The twitch of his lips into a wry grin spread warmth that chased away the emptiness for the first time in what felt like forever. The heat radiating off of his long, lean body made my heart kick back to life. When his arms wrapped around me for a seriously overdue hug, I finally felt alive. Finally felt something other than the echoing loneliness and hollowness that consumed me the minute he turned his back on me. Even with Daye trapped between us, I still felt a tingle at every single spot where his body touched mine.
“It’s so good to see you.” I meant it with every fiber of my being. Looking at him, even as worn and as drawn as he appeared, settled something deep inside of me.

Retreat (Getaway #1) by Jay Crownover
Stars: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Save a horse...

Another Jay Crownover success!! I bought the book because Jay wrote it and I knew it would be good. But I underestimated just how great it would be. I felt like I could feel the trees hitting me when Boss spooked and took Leo on an adventure! The plot is full of good guys, bad guys, and even good bad guys ;) There is passion, humor, and pain. And now a bit about the story...

Leo has been off since she discovered her boyfriend was married. So her best friend, Em, hauled her out for a wilderness ranch trek. At least she could ride a horse, but as a city girl she wasn't sure about living the cowgirl life. Only a few hours into the vacation and she has her foot in her mouth. A few days later she would kill for that to have been the worst experience. Give this new series a try, I think you will fall for the Warner brothers!!!

Favorite passages:
- “I’m good at staying on top of things that are a handful.”
- “Love isn’t logical or reasonable. Our hearts make no sense.”
- “Even if the trophy is gone, you still won it and that victory lasts forever.”
- I understood what a real catastrophe was now, and that there was no way to prevent chaos when outside factors were involved. The only way to live a life that was controlled and secure was to have no life at all ...

Shelter (Getaway #2) by Jay Crownover
Stars: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We all need shelter from the storms in our lives!

Romance, remorse, passion, and mystery return in this second getaway novel. The details from the first book are all present to allow this to be read standalone. Set in small town Wyoming where your drive way takes 20 minutes to drive down, the Warner ranch continues as a working ranch along with a very lucrative retreat business. In Retreat, Sutton and Emrys leave things unfinished, but not for long in this wild ride from the hospital to recovery and back again. And now a bit about the story...

Sutton and Emrys went through hell the last time Emrys was in Wyoming, but she is determined to come back and make things right. At the end of Retreat, Sutton demanded she leave his hospital room, his demand was so aggravated you would think he was about to have a heart attack. But the reason he wanted her gone was shame. She hadn't protected her like he should have. At the same time she felt guilty for getting them in the situation. Once the lines of communication open and they reconnect the sparks fly. There is only one problem, people address turning up dead and Sutton is the prime suspect.

Favorite passages:
- I’d always been there for her. Until I hadn’t. I had never let her down before. Until I had. There was no way I could miss the heartbreak and betrayal written all over her face right now. My brothers were right. She needed to be protected from me and that made my gut twist and my injured heart tie itself into knots.
- I found the romantic equivalent of a fixer-upper, and once the rehab was done, I moved on to my next project.
- “Things aren’t always easy; seeing them through to the end is admirable.”
- She offered me the kind of shelter I never knew I needed.
- “I like him the way he is. I don’t need to fix him.”

Escape (Getaway #3) by Jay Crownover
Stars: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

You can run, but you can't hide...

OMG Lane and Brynn finally get their story!! The story takes place in several states where an escape plan to relax turns into a cross country search and rescue! This young love sure has grown up and now if they'd just talk about it! Several unexpected plots emerge, loved the surprises. Plus a cameo from officer Royal Cross from the Marked Men series, I love it when authors pull their different series together. :) And now a bit about the story...

Lane can't stand to see Brynn's response to Jack's proposal. So he runs. He doesn't hear Brynn say no. But when she chases him to California he quickly figures it out. As they are trying to figure out if they still fit together they hear a cry for help. It isn't until the next day they find the boy who screamed. And find themselves inside a huge scandal that threatens to be more than they can manage.

Favorite passages:
- No, there was no escape from love once it got its claws into you.
- if it ain't broke, don’t fix it
- She was my wounded bird with more than a fractured wing, and I knew it was going to be my job to teach her how to fly.
- “So, if you really, really want something you shouldn’t stop asking for it.”
- “It’s amazing what you can learn when you take the time to talk things out.”
- I was pretty certain my first trip to Vegas would also be my last.

Note: I was given a free copy and voluntarily chose to review this book. I also had already preordered it when I was selected to get an early copy, so you will also see this listed as a verified purchase.

EXCERPT: Brynn He arched a dark eyebrow. “I’m in no rush to get back to the mess I’m sure we both left behind. I was planning on hanging out with Sutton for a few more days then making my way back home. There’s no reason we can’t make the drive together…unless you would rather fly?” I stared at him in silence for a long moment, weighing his words carefully. It had to be more than a thousand miles between Sacramento and Sheridan. That was hours and hours of him and me alone in his truck. We purposely avoided being alone when we were at the ranch. There were many awkward moments of silence and word we wanted to say but couldn’t. On the one hand, it was all I ever wanted. Lane Warner, with no place to escape me and our tangled, tormented history. We would finally be forced to put the past to rest, whatever that meant for us moving forward. On the other hand, the idea of being alone with him, trapped in that horrible, uneasy silence that plagued us since the second I said “yes” all those years ago made my skin crawl. There was no guarantee that Lane was ready to lance the wounds we’d both caused that had long been infected and festering. He seemed content to pretend things were fine when they were anything but. He rubbed his thumb along the corner of his mouth and gave me that grin of his that ensured he got whatever it was he wanted. “We can even take a few days and go to the Grand Canyon and Vegas if you don’t mind adding a few stops and several hundred miles onto the trip. I’ve never really been anywhere outside of home and who knows when we’ll get the chance to see it all again.” He was so persuasive with that charismatic smile and the soft look in his eyes. Daye caught my attention as she reached for my hand. She was bouncing on her toes, eyes as excited as her uncle’s. “You have to say yes. It sounds like so much fun. I want to go to the Grand Canyon one day. Did you know that you can ride horses down to the bottom?” She had the Warner charm already and did she ever know how to use it. “That does sound like fun, but are you sure I wouldn’t cramp your style? Especially in a place like Vegas.” I couldn’t disguise the hesitation in my tone. Lane never made it a secret that he liked the ladies, the flashier and easier the better. Vegas was built for a guy looking for a good time, and Lane was always up for some fun. There was no way I was hitching a ride with him if it meant that I was going to have front row seats for all of his bedroom antics. I was willing to suffer through a lot to get him back where he belonged, but my battered heart couldn’t take watching him with other women anymore. That was one thing about our tenuous relationship that had to change. He chuckled softly and hooked his thumbs into the front pockets of his jeans. The action pulled the denim down low on his hips flashing a strip of hard, tanned skin. I knew that under his t-shirt he was rocking more than a six pack and had a body littered with carved muscles and sharp lines. Ranch life had blessed all the Warner boys with bodies to die for, but somehow Lane ended up looking the best of all of them. He was quintessential cowboy, rugged and rough in all the best ways. Too bad he knew it and used every inch of that delectable body to his advantage. I couldn’t remember the last time he spent the night alone. All his conquests had to creep past my bedroom door to make their early morning getaway, and there was always a steady stream of them. “No, Brynn. You absolutely won’t cramp my style. In fact, I can’t imagine anyone else I would want to drive around the country with. I think we could both use the break from our reality and time away from it all. I promise to behave. So,” he lifted his eyebrows and gave me that panty-melting grin. “Are you in or out?” We watched each other, neither of us giving anything away. I wanted to go with Lane more than I wanted my next breath but I couldn’t tell if he wanted me to tag along with the same ferocity. It was the story of my life, a vicious cycle of wanting Lane Warner. Me wanting him and him not deciding what he wanted. Was I in or out? Of course, I was in…I was all in. I was in so deep with him there was no hope of me ever finding my way out. There was only one response to his question that I could give, my brain and my heart wouldn’t allow any other one. “I’m in.”
