Not what I was expecting!! 

So not being familiar with the sports in England, I was thinking this was going to be a Pretty Woman like story. I was way off base... and I really enjoyed the story! The heroine is the one who picked up the hooker and he didn't sell his body for money. And now a bit about the story...

Fern has been waiting at the upscale bar for 40 minutes, it is clear she is being stood up. After a long work week all she wanted to do was have a little fun and relax. Deciding for one last drink before heading out she orders a vodka and lime. She has it just about gone when there is a loud ruckus at the door as the Sharks come crashing in. Great just what she wasn't looking forward too, being hit on and pawed at. Just as she turns to make her escape she collides with Tom. This crash leads to more and more.

Favorite passage: "You looked so fierce then, I thought you were about to throw me over your shoulder and carry me off to your cave."

Great finish to the Sinfully Naughty Volume. New twist on slavery and automatic shifting for mermaids! It had me hooked and I didn't want to put it down! And now a bit about the story...

Edan is a dragon shifter "owned" by a gargoyle who specializes in cage fighting. Dualla is a mermaid so tired of hearing the same story of rescue from her aunt that she often day dreams. She has the same dream all the time, of a man with blond hair, purple eyes, and purple scales (since he is a dragon shifter). The sparks fly when Edan and Dualla meet, but will his pride get in his way?

Favorite passage: "W-what do you mean you can't be responsible? You dragons don't eat your mates after sex or something do you?"

Mina was born and raised in the East Farthing of Middle Earth (otherwise known as the Midlands, England) and spend her childhood learning all the sorts of things generally required of a professional adventurer. Able to ride, box, shoot, make and read maps, make chainmail and use a broadsword (with varying degrees of efficiency) she was disgusted to find that adventuring is not considered a suitable occupation these days.

            I need some sexy time…and a drink. I stared at the little clock in the bottom right hand corner of my computer. Hurry up five o’clock! I have forty minutes left at work before I can get out of there for the weekend. I look around my drab cubicle surveying the contents: calendar, tissue, hand sanitizer, lotion, a big refillable coffee mug for my caffeine addiction, and a picture of my cat. Yes my big, fluffy, white Persian cat, Sebastian. His big, blue eyes stared back at me looking bored. Oh my God I am so pathetic. My workspace didn’t have pictures of kids or a husband…not even a boyfriend.

            My last relationship ended badly, which is why I was now working as an assistant in the human resources department instead of running it like at my last job. I made the mistake of sleeping with my old boss. I quit my job when that didn’t work out and took a lower paying job as an assistant just so I could keep my condo.

            Thirty minutes left! I begin filing away documents and saving open files on my computer. When there was nothing left to do, I opened up Facebook on my Iphone and scrolled down the wall. Who cares…cute…blah blah blah… I kept passing mindless posts but paused when I saw a scorching hot image from one of my favorite erotica authors that I follow online. I don’t go out often to meet people, which is probably why I got mixed up with my old boss. “Nice to meet you, Colin. What department do you work in?”

            “IT,” he replies. “I am a computer geek.”

            I laugh and he smiles at me. He bends over inches away from my face, presses the button on my Iphone, and slides the unlock button, opening up the screen to the naughty picture I had been looking at moments before he came to my desk. God he smells good...like Dolce & Gabbana.

             “I had to get a second look at that,” he says, looking at the bright screen. 

            Second look! I realize he had seen my phone when he came to my desk. I stare at him open-mouthed and embarrassed. I had been too distracted by his delicious scent and his proximity to realize what he was doing with my phone.

Is love enough?

OMG! This is my favorite April Angel book yet! It brought tears to my eyes, had me frustrated with the evil Mother-in-Law, but there were still a few chuckles in there too! If I wasn't on pins and needles wondering about all the possibilities of something going wrong, I was fighting right along side Ari and Nick for things to go right. This book was a little different from previous AA books, but a great kind of different - there was more character development and while the hot sex scenes weren't as frequent, the ones that were there were still HOT! And now a bit to get you hooked...

After 5 wonderful years together Ari and Nick decide to have a baby. Failed attempt time after time leaves Nick feeling like a sperm donor instead of the loving caring husband he used to be. Each time Ari takes a test and it is negative he has no idea how to comfort her. Their communication and open and honest friendship side of their marriage deteriorates... until Ari gets pregnant, but sadly four months in she miscarries. This takes the state of poor communications to a new high. Now it is 7 years into their marriage, they've been separated for almost 2 years and it is time to sign the divorce papers. At the lawyer's office, when the building literally starts coming down around them, they become trapped and the communication flow starts again. Can they make it work? Can they learn to be friends and lovers again? Give them Their Second Chance and read the story, maybe it will inspire you to give someone else a second chance too!
