He's cured!!!!!
They've come along way from Ford and Scarlett. Stolen and exploded cars, fires, bruised ribs, just to name a few of their adventures. And there are more to come as Tyler and Maddie head towards the new year. They details of the story flow before your eyes, pulling from your own memory blanks. I can hear the milkshake metal tumbler hitting the table, see the condensation running down the sides. And now a bit about the story...
Maddie and Tyler have survived their beach side Mexican excursion. Now they are back in Vegas and struggling with what to do next. They've been thru a lot in less than three months. Tyler still doesn't have a home and now has no car. Maddie still doesn't have a car, but doesn't want to live with Diane and Carolyn anymore. So they are crashing at Evan and Robert's until they figure it out. That should be safe, right??
Favorite passages:
- Maybe all our mistakes add up to something bigger. Maybe all the bad decisions were just good ones in disguise.
- I can’t see what they’re seeing because my hair is now all rumpled, having been man- and lady-handled, and is hanging in front of my face completely. I kind of feel like Cousin Itt from The Addams Family.
- Time to come out of the darkness and into the light.
- Because I don’t really give a shit about being “nice.” Anybody can be “nice.” I think what I want to be is... kind. Which is a different thing altogether.
- “She saved me when I thought I was past the point of saving.”
- “It’s a privilege,” I say. “I mean, that’s what commitment is.”“What?”“Showing up. Even when shit ain’t easy. Especially when shit ain’t easy.”
- I glance at the clock on the Tesla’s massive computer screen (the car itself is actually just a computer on wheels, which makes me wonder what the fuck happens if it gets hacked)
- The fact that he can be the toughest son of a bitch I have ever met and the most hard-headed infant all at the same time is just... well. It’s perfect.

MADDIE
It strikes
me suddenly that I’m not the only one who will notice how fucking good Tyler
looks now that he’s all clean-shaven and you can really see that ridiculously
fortunate bone structure he has. And I’m a little embarrassed about the fact
that I just got all possessive and shit. I’m about to say something to that
effect, either make a joke or play it off, but before I can, Tyler grabs me
around the waist, pulls me to him and whispers, “That was so fucking hot,” just
as the doors to another elevator pop open.
He walks me
backwards into the car and frantically pushes the “door close” button before
anyone else can step in. He’s got me pressed against the mirrored glass and his
hands are between my denim-covered thighs, cupping my pussy. He kisses my neck
and the feel of his lips, without any rough hair to brush and scratch against
mine, feels so good that I can barely stand it. I didn’t realize his kiss was
so soft. The skin of his mouth feels new. Like, I was just starting to get
accustomed to the way his kisses felt, and suddenly it’s a whole new
experience. New, but familiar. The same way it was when I met him.
It’s how
this whole moment feels. Back in the Mandarin where we were on Halloween when
we found out who we are. A concept which, I realize in this moment, might be
true in more ways than one. It’s been barely two months since we turned each
other’s lives upside down. Except that’s not quite fair. Or accurate. Our lives
were already upside down. We’ve turned them back right side up. Yeah, we
disrupted each other’s worlds, but we did so in the most magnificent way. And
it’s starting to feel like that disruption is going to result in a life that
actually feels... settled.
I realize
that life with Tyler Morgan will never be boring. That much seems incredibly
evident. But life is unpredictable no matter what we do to try to put rules in
place to keep it from feeling that way. At least with Tyler the
unpredictability doesn’t seem scary. With him, as much as is possible, the
unpredictability feels safe.
TYLER
Just like
the beard was keeping me at a distance from the people I would see walking down
the street, it was keeping me at a distance from her when we were alone
together. It was an unrealized blockade impeding my ability to be as close to
her as I want to be. There is no such impediment now, and I am engulfing myself
inside her.
The feel of
my cheeks nuzzled in between hers makes this moment seem so...sweet. It’s nice.
I don’t know how else to describe it. It’s just kind of...pure. That’s how I
feel. That’s what I think.
I also feel
like one good rimming deserves another.
So, moving
my head in tiny circles around her ass, just like she did to me a couple of
days ago, I get off on the whining noises she makes, and I work two fingers
inside her pussy to help everybody along. With my other hand I begin fisting my
cock. I’m trying to go slowly so that I don’t fucking come right here all over
the Mandarin’s nice carpet. I already burned down one of their condos, I don’t
want to fuck up one of their suites too. New-look Tyler is considerate like
that. But as slowly as I’m trying to
go, she’s making it tough because of the way she’s rotating her ass and hips
around.
And
suddenly, I don’t want to be behind her. I mean, I love the view from here and
I love the way she tastes, but I want
to see her. I want to look at her face and have her look at mine. Yeah. I want
her to look at me. I want her to see me.
So I pull away,
flop down on my back on the bed beside her, and summon to her with my index
finger to come over. She does, smiling as she mounts me. She takes my two
fingers that were just inside her and puts them in her mouth. And I remember
the first time I saw her do that. I told her, “You’re going to fucking kill
me.” But she didn’t. She didn’t. It was exactly the opposite. She fucking saved
me. And so now, with her astride me, I sit up, take her face in my hands, look
her square in the eyes, and tell her, “I fucking love you.”
She closes
her own eyes with a shy smile and whispers, “I fucking love you.”

Angels Fall (Original Sin #2) by J.A. Huss & Johnathan McClain

The fall to rock bottom...
From the penthouse high above Las Vegas to the tunnels under the Hoover dam, Tyler and Maddie are back! This review does have spoilers for book one (Sin with Me), but not this story. They start right where they left off... Tyler in his burning apartment and Maddie in Carlos car headed to the desert. The series could have ended then, with them both dead, but what fun would that be? Instead Julie and Johnathan take us on a hilarious adventure with the characters continuing to search for love, forgiveness, and understanding. There are a few surprises, both good and bad, along the way. And now a bit about the story...
Tyler is rescued by his friends at the fire station, after a three minute chat with God himself. Of course he wants to chase after Maddie, but since he flat lined for those three minutes, he's off to the hospital for a full checkup. Maddie on the other hand heads back to Pete's. She's sure her car and purse are stolen so where else is there to go? Except Carlos is there waiting and he wants his money or something... Luckily she is able to negotiate more time. Now just to decide how to spend that time. She needs $185k and has to decide what to do about Tyler now that she knows he isn't Ford.
Favorite passages:
- It’s going to be okay, the angel counters.
- It strikes me suddenly that people sigh around me a lot. Like I make the whole fucking world exhausted.
- “It ain’t Starbucks. If you don’t steam the milk, there’s a buncha other girls who’ll heat it up instead.”
- And late is always better than never.

Flesh into Fire (Original Sin #3) by J.A. Huss & Johnathan McClain
Review by Theresa Esterline
Stars: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Is she crazy...
This review does have spoilers from the previous books in the series (Sin with Me and Angels Fall), but not this story. They start right where they left off... attending funerals for Pete and Jeff (the firefighter who died looking for Pete). This story shows us the crazy/brave side of Maddie. As with the first two books there is terror, humor and hot sex scenes!! Plus educational, don't roll your eyes, many words I have to look up that are not so common in today's world. And now a bit about the story...
Pete's is gone, touched by Logan. Maddie still owes Carlos and now has no job. She won't let Tyler just pay Carlos off, so now what? She connects up with a DEA agent working undercover to bring Carlos down. Only two problems 1) Carlos is in love with Maddie and she detests him and 2) Tyler is super jealous and paranoid. Which makes for one comical story... watch how this flesh turns into fire!
Favorite passages:
- The best waterpark ride in history.
- “Not everything always happens for a reason. Sometimes things just… happen.”
- He’s unpredictable. And if unpredictability doesn’t get you killed, it makes you strong.
- “I’ll sleep when I’m dead.”
