The Bombshell Effect by Karla Sorensen *~*~*~*~*~* Blog Tour & Review

Title: The Bombshell Effect
Author: Karla Sorensen
Genre: Sports Romantic Comedy
Release Date: June 14, 2018 Cover Designer: Najla Qamber

Allie Sutton just got a new job.
Not one she wants, and definitely not one she's prepared for. She hadn't seen her dad in years, so the last thing she expects upon his sudden death is to inherit the thing he loved more than anything (or anyone) ... the professional football team he owned for the last twenty years.
Luke Pierson does not want a new boss.
What he wants is to be a good father to his daughter, the best quarterback possible for his teammates. What he doesn't need is a blonde bombshell ruining the team's chances at another championship. Especially when that bombshell turns out to be his new neighbor. The neighbor he was a complete jerk to the first time they met.
For the sake of the team, they treat each other like complete professionals. In public, at least. Behind closed doors, it's a different story. And the fallout of giving in to that heat is something neither one of them can see coming.

Stars: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Bombs Away!!!

Hilariously funny sports romance - enemies to ???, you'll have to read to find out!  If you love baking, football, crazy surprises, or just stories about women that can do anything, this book is for you!  It is based in Washington, but includes travel.  The point of view alternates so you get bits of both sides of the story.  Though it starts with tragedy, it hasn't made me cry.  And now a bit about the story...

What happens when Allie, a blonde bombshell, moves in next door to Luke, the star football player?  Well he assumes she is just after his body of course.  But you know what they say about assuming, right?  Well that comes true for Luke.  He ends up wearing some hot pink frosting and fuming only later to meet Allie face to face and learn she is way more than what he thought.  Now they have to work together and fight the attraction, hatred, and first false impressions.

Favorite passages:
 - “Siri, why is the frosting melting off my cupcakes?” Oh, saying it out loud somehow made it worse.
 - ... the gaining of knowledge was transformative and irreversible.
 - Knowledge. It rearranged your brain, allowing space, shifting your perception of reality and making sense of what the domino effect might be.
 - “I had an idea just now.”  “I hope you didn’t hurt yourself in the process.”
 - Somehow, without conscious action, my days turned from unknown and overwhelming to expected and routine.
 - Cognizant of cameras aimed in my direction from the front row of my suite, I made sure not to gawk and drool, lick my lips like he was a perfectly seared eight-ounce filet after a week-long juice cleanse.
 - “Let them know that outside of these walls, they’re strictly on a ‘no comment’ basis, and if anyone utters a word to the media other than that, they’ll get a stiletto up their piss hole.”
 - “I want someone who doesn’t sit back and look at how the landscape of their life will change by adding me into it and weigh whether I’m worth the change. I want them to pull me into it with both hands and make it something new without a second thought.”

Note: I was given a free copy and voluntarily chose to review this book.

Well, let’s see ... I’m a wife and a mother. If the things that I write bring a smile to someone's face, then I've done my job. I am obsessed with Outlander (both the books and the show). I’m almost exclusively a romance reader, which means some people will never consider me a literary snob. If I could meet one historical figure, it would be Jane Austen. I received my Bachelors in Public Relations and worked in health care marketing before I had my babies. I hate Twitter. I do it, but I hate it. Also, if you want to get on my good side, bring me wine and I'll love you forever.
