Only for Her Dragon (Dragon Guard #6) by Julia Mills
Review by Angela
Stars: 5

This is a paranormal romance with a touch of mystery. The sixth book in The Dragon Guard Series, could be read as a stand alone but I advise you to read the other books first to understand the complete story, you will not be disappointed. I recommend this book for adults only, there is some hot scenes in this book. I really enjoyed this book, even though it is linked to the other books it has it own story. Sometimes love at first sight is hard to believe, but when love comes in the form of a hunky dragon, who couldn't accept that?

Aaron is the last bachelor of the Dragon Guards. He is always the one who teases the others about finding their mates and being love sick. He never wanted a mate, his only desire is to find the traitor and restore order to their clan. But fate steps in when he least expects it. But he is determined and willing to fight fate and tries to stay away from her, but Dr. Charlene Gallagher is not one to easily forget. One point for fate... zero for dragon man. Slowly Aaron tries to win Charlie's heart, little does he know she has a secret that he alone can help her discover.

Dr. Charlene Gallagher also known as Charlie, was in shock when she sees a dragon. But to her surprise she has accepted everything calmly, too calmly, still with her list in hand she has several questions. Now if she could deal with this dragon man whom invades her every thought she would be ok. Maybe she was more interested in him than she was letting on, no way, right? Well maybe just a little bit...

It's now or never. Charlie and Aaron can no longer fight the pull between them. After several questions answered fate will no longer be denied, now to deal with this other hidden secret. Will fate help the new couple to discover the hidden secret inside Charlie? Will they be able to get everything in order before the traitor can cause any more damage?

favorite passages:
"It was as though their beauty was just for her."
"She wondered if they were ever going to address the elephant.. make that dragon in the room."
"Her last thought was of haunting blue eyes and the kiss that changed her life."
"I've got your back. I remember what we were like as teenagers. There's no way in hell a hormone ridden teenage boy is getting anywhere near my nieces."
"Her laugh reminded him of tiny bells singing their song, and her clear melodious voice was smooth as the finest whiskey."
"You know that's right," Royce agreed before pulling Kyra into his lap and kissing her like he hadn't seen her in days."
"It's now or never and never is not an option, he heard in his mother's voice."
"Aaron was lethal. He was the epitome of "sex on a stick." The one man that could tie her in knots."
"That man is gonna to be the death of me... but what a way to go!"
"He's an addiction they don't have a twelve-step program for."
"As for the butthead... I think I'll keep him."

One to Leave
By Tia Louise
© TLM Productions, 2014

I rolled us together onto our sides, wrapping both my arms around her waist and burying my face in her hair. Her hands slid down my arms until our fingers entwined, and we held each other through the whispers of afterglow.
All those nights in the desert, all those conversations. I never could get Stuart to see how great a wife, a home could be. Now he was pulling me away from mine.
I softly kissed the top of Melissa’s shoulder, and she struggled to get free, so she could turn and face me. Sliding closer, she wrapped her arms around my neck, and our bodies touched everywhere, shoulders to chest to hip to knee, even our noses met—just before she kissed my lips. I pushed her onto her back and parted them, sweeping my tongue inside for a deeper kiss that earned me another little noise.
My lips moved to her cheek, and I held myself over her. “Stuart wouldn’t be lost if he had this.”
Reaching up, she held my face, lightly tracing her thumbs over my cheeks. “Aren’t you the same age? And he’s never had a serious relationship?”
My brows pulled together as I thought about it. “If so, he’s never told me. I mean, he can get laid whenever he wants, but he never lets it go far. He says women are a distraction.”
Blue eyes narrowed. “How many distractions did you have in the service?”
That made me laugh, and I moved to lie beside her. “None. I was with Allison, and then… I guess I shared his opinion for a while. Until you.”
Those dark years after my first wife died seemed so far away now that I had Melissa and Dex. When the cancer took Allison so cruelly and so fast, I turned to stone, my heart a ball of rage and bitterness. I’d done my duty to God and country and came home planning a long life with my wife, starting a family, building a home. She was gone before we ever even had the chance.
When I met Melissa, everything changed. She was beautiful and kind and strong and so sexy. She soothed the anger in my heart. She healed me with her love, and she gave me a son. I could remember my past, of course, but it made my present so much more precious.
She rolled up beside me. “I love you.”
“I love you more.” I smiled, touching her cheek, and she continued.
“So what does all of this mean for us? What are you thinking?”
My eyes went back to the ceiling. “I might have to leave you for a bit if he needs help.”
“Derek! He’s a grown man.” She fell back on the bed, arms crossed, and it was my turn to prop up beside her.
“He saved my life, Mel. If he’s in trouble, I have to be there for him.”
“Doesn’t he have a family?”
“His dad was killed in the service. It’s just his mom, Patrick, and their little sister Amy.” With a big sigh, I rolled onto both elbows, onto my stomach. “Amy’s a college kid, and he’d rather punch Patrick in the face than take help from him.”
“Sounds like a prick.”
I couldn’t help laughing again. “I know you love Patrick, but I had that initial response to him myself.”
“Patrick is one of the good guys. If you can’t see that—”
“Settle down, I can see that. He might color outside the lines, but he manages to turn it around and come out on top. He’s a good man.”
That satisfied her. She smiled and relaxed her crossed arms, I reached out and pulled her against my side. “It’s more than an obligation. I want to be there for Stuart. You’d feel the same way if it was Elaine.”
She couldn’t argue with that, so we were quiet a moment. A tiny squeal from down the hall broke the silence, and we both grinned. I was out of the bed first, heading down the hall without bothering to grab underwear.
Of course, Mel catcalled after me. “Holy shit! Check out that rear view!”
Dammit again. Stuart had better have a good reason for pulling me away from this.

My New Leading Man Crush
Yes I loved this book as I loved all of Tia Louise’s before this but I have to admit to being able to predict what Slayde’s past was. I guess I have read so many novels that I am able to see these story lines quickly!!

Despite all of this I couldn’t help but love the ride that was Kenny and Slayde’s story. I loved them both. Kenny for how she deals with her past loss and Slayde for how he is wearing his past and is trying to be a better person. I have to admit to having a new favourite male lead of Tia Louise’s. I can’t help but feel guilty, however Slayde with his tattoos and angst….sigh.

The story is an erotic one and yet at the same time the romance between the two has you sighing and going ahhhh due to the sweetness of it!!

I am so pleased to have discovered Tia Louise as she truly is amazing at weaving the tales that she does. I have fallen in love with all of her characters thus far and I cannot wait to fall in love with more.

Please note that all of her novels can be read as standalones although the characters appear throughout the series.

I was lucky enough to receive a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

More From Our Favourite Couple, Derek and Melissa

We first met Derek and Melissa in One To Hold. It was in this book that we learnt the truth about her husband. If you haven’t read this book then I have to say that although they are slated that they can be read as stand alones I have to say that you would definitely have a better understanding of what is going on and the deep feelings that are held by the characters if the previous books were read first.

Derek and Melissa are happy despite still not located in the same place. They have a baby on the way and they are still insanely attracted to one another and the intimate scenes certainly reflect that!! They are smoking hot! The only blight on their happiness is the same problem they were facing previously, Melissa’s e- husband. He is up to his old tricks, and some new ones it would seem. Derek on a case that he is on discovers something troubling things and sets in motion a plan to end Sloan’s, for want of a better phrase, reign of terror.

The way that the plan pans out is a satisfying one if not worrying. The way that it ends leads me to think that this may not be the end of the story but I guess only time will tell in regards to this. I for one hope that they get their HEA, they do at the end of this but, as I say, there is a distinct possibility that this is not the end.

Please note that I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Stars: 4.5

This is where I have to admit to being mean in the amount of stars that I have given this book. I have read quite a few books recently and I have to admit that had this not been the case I would have given this 5 stars. Instead count this as a 4 1/2 star review.

The book is all about Melissa who is running away from her life for a week away with her friend. She starts the book sitting in a bar staring into her drink and musing about all the carefree people around her when her eyes connect with those of a man across the bar. That encounter leads to a sexual encounter against a wall!! That man was Derek.

Melissa knows that with everything going on a week long affair with this person would be a silly thing to do. Only problem is she cannot get him out of her mind. When a chance encounter gets them together again what else can they do but get together again.

The week ends and she heads back to her life wishing that she had been free to tell Derek that despite their short time together she had fallen in love with him.

Her life consists of a husband, Sloan, who from the first things he says just has you thinking 'what a slime ball'(perhaps something worse to be honest!). When Melissa comes across something that blows apart the thing helping hold her together she confronts 'it'(sorry spoilers if I say anything other than this!) with pictures of why she was running away for a week and emails.

Will she be able to heal enough and love Derek? Or will her past come back to haunt her that one time too many?

This is a great little read that moves along at a good pace with plenty of steam but also with enough depth to actually make you care about the characters. Derek at times I really wanted to slap and shout 'WHY!!?? Are you stupid? Why did you do it?'. Melissa I wanted to give a hug and I admit to tearing up when she recounted her tale.

A great debut novel and I cannot wait for the book on Melissa's friend and rock, Elaine, in January 2014, One To Keep.

The VIP Trilogy bundle (VIP, The Madam, & MVP) by M. Robinson *~*~*~*~* Blitz & Review

Title: The VIP Trilogy bundle
Including: VIP, The Madam, and MVP
Author: M. Robinson
Release Date: Jan 20, 2015
Find on

VIP Synopsis:
VIP: The beginning: A point in time or space where something starts.
32-year-old Sebastian Vanwell, a very successful yacht broker, always loved the design and architecture of a luxurious yacht. His only addiction was being on the water. He loved it, he thrived on it, and he needed it in his life. After a very stable, loving childhood with a few bumps, Sebastian married the love of his life: the one person who he knew would always be there. Julia was his rock, and he loved her more than life itself. Sebastian kept his addiction to the water under control, wanting to keep his time with his wife and son his number one obsession. That was, until he saw her.
Ysabelle Telle hit him hard, knocking the wind from his lungs. This new addiction haunted him, the one compulsion that he couldn't control no matter how hard he tried. Coming from worlds apart beautiful, dark, complicated Ysabelle didn't have the rich, protected background that Sebastian had. She had lived a life of hell, growing up in poverty and horrific living conditions with a drug-addict mother who never cared. Ysabelle now lived for one person, and one person only: herself. She was pure perfection. Her beauty, along with a flawless body, had men lined up and driveling over her- ensuring her success as a VIP.
There are too many words that describe the effects when two diverse worlds like theirs collide. They both have too much to lose to get caught in the forceful pull, which could destroy them both.
Warning sex/drugs/language. Mature readers only.

The Madam Synopsis:
Some people need love…
I need sex, money, control, and power.
Anyone could have those four things, but only one could have VIP. Becoming Madam was never a choice for me, it was a mandated order from the most powerful woman I knew- my mother. I was born to fill her shoes, never to make mistakes, or to show weakness.
You are the product of your environment. They say the apple doesn't fall far from the tree; you learn from what you see, not from what you're told. Nature vs. Nurture. I learned from it all; what I saw, what I didn't see, what I was told, and from reading between the lines.
I was raised with the belief that the world spun ONLY because of me. I held power as far back as I can remember, saw things no one ever talks about, and witnessed illegal acts of sex, drugs, and money by the time I was eighteen.
You saw a glimpse of me in VIP, now see it from the beginning. Enter my world where anything goes; no judgments, no remorse, no guilt. You play by my rules, or you don’t play at all. There are no limits to what I can do, or to what I can show you…I will ensure my legacy by any means necessary.
My name is Lilith Veronica Stone, and I am The Madam.

MVP Synopsis:
I love you.
Three words that can make or break you.
I thought I needed to find myself. I thought I wasn’t happy. I thought I needed more out of life.
I didn’t.
I’m more lost now than I was when I left. I have no answers, just endless amounts of questions. It was only a matter of time until the truth came to light. I never imagined it would change my entire life and everything I thought to be true.
It was all a game.
Except I wasn’t a player.
I was a pawn.

The end.
Two words that have several meanings. I never thought I’d lose her. But did I ever really have her…
Or did VIP?
Can love conquer all?

VIP by M. Robinson
Review by Dana Marie
Stars: 4.5

VIP is a story of love lost and filling a void, and it proves that no matter how happy you think you are there is always something that will make you even happier. There is a chemistry here that proves where you come from, and no matter what your past is, it does not necessarily plot your course.
Ysabelle had her share of hard knocks in her childhood. She spent her teen years learning to adapt and move on the best way she knew how. It doesn't take long before she is a top VIP in the Madam’s keep. Then Sebastian comes in and breaks all the rules. It takes just one look at Ysabelle and the past comes crashing in on him. Is she Sebastian’s new obsession or the only thing to fill the empty place in his heart?
This read has a lot of background. In fact, I would have to say the first half of the book is all about their past. I must admit, this isn’t normally a plus for me since it takes a little more time for the story to weave its web around you. However, it fits in this story. Everything leading up to Ysabelle and Sebastian meeting has great insight on the way everything plays out. The characters weren't overpowering and there was enough raw emotion to keep your interest.
This is a really good read. You have hot spots, emotion, and insight with both the characters POV. Another great thing about this read is that the next in the series is already out and I’m looking forward to it. Enjoy!

The Madam by M. Robinson
Review by Dana Marie
Stars: 4.5

Have you ever read a book and there are few characters that make you wonder what brought them to that point in the story? One of those characters you aren’t quite sure whether it’s love or hate. Well, in VIP, Madam was one of those characters for me.
Everyone has a past and Madam is no exception to this rule. We are taught that rules are meant to be followed, not broken. Power is having control. Sex is control. Greed makes you step over the line. Crossing the line doesn’t mean broken, right? Money is power, so completes the circle.
The background on this character was worth the wait. It may like the story takes several licks to get to the Tootsie Roll center, but everyone happy when they get there.
Seductive scenes and shedding light on how the Madam came to be who she is will have you wondering what is on the horizon in book three. I recommend starting with book one-VIP. This read gets a well-deserved 4.5 stars.

MVP by M. Robinson
Review by Dana Marie
Stars: 4

MVP is an emotional roller coaster read that may leave you a little conflicted, in a good way though. This highly anticipated conclusion that everyone was waiting for was a great ending to the series. We all finally get closure on Ysabelle and Sebastian’s relationship.

The roles seem to be switched as Ysabelle and Sebastian work on their relationship after being apart. He shows a much more dominant side, while she takes on the insecure role. The ups and downs will keep you frustrated, but it’s also what sucks the reader in.

With this read you may want to question a few things or maybe even reach in and shake a character, but it’s worth it. It’s the closure you've been waiting for. I highly recommend grabbing this series and reading the books in order. Enjoy!

M. Robinson loves to read. She favors anything that has angst, romance, triangles, cheating, love, and of course sex! She has been reading since the Babysitters Club and R.L. Stein.
She was born in New Jersey but was raised in Tampa Fl. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D in psychology, with two years left.
She is married to an amazing man who she loves to pieces. They have two German Shepherd mixes and a Tabby cat.

Title: That Man 5 (The Wedding Story Part 2)
Genre: New Adult Erotic Romance
Release Date: December 19, 2014
Cover Artist: Arijana Karcic, Cover It! Designs

The highly anticipated epic conclusion to the USA Today bestselling THAT MAN series. You are invited to the wedding of the century. Attire: Be prepared to laugh, cry, and swoon. Sexy as sin Blake Burns and his tiger, Jennifer McCoy, are finally going to tie the knot. Or not. While a delusional, jealous ex and looming dark secret from Blake’s past still threaten their relationship, an unexpected life-or-death event may send their “I do’s” into Neverland. Battling against formidable odds, will Blake and Jennifer get their happily ever after? Only a miracle—and that man—can make it happen.
Once inside the apartment, I drew a hot bath. The rope fantasy I’d had earlier in the day had gone down the drain. It just didn’t make sense now. Right now, I just needed to hold my tiger. Let her know she was mine. And make up for punishing her. And rid myself of guilt. I felt bad about my angry fuck, yet she’d seemed turned on, not offended. After peeling off her clothes which I intended to burn since Dickwick had touched them, I helped her into the tub. My tub was luxurious. Big enough to let six foot three me stretch out, and it had a Jacuzzi. Truthfully, due to our hectic work schedules, Jen and I hadn’t enjoyed it much. Mostly, we took showers together. I watched as she sunk into the breast deep water. Her sigh was like a symphony to my ears. Turning on the Jacuzzi, I shrugged off my clothes and joined her, settling behind her. She was in my arms, her body and head resting against my chest and shoulders. The water gurgled around us, the bubbling jets caressing and massaging. We were in a zone. I grabbed a large sponge, squirted some liquid soap on it, and then began to wash her everywhere. Dickwick needed to be erased. “I’m sorry about tonight,” I breathed against her delicate neck as I washed the back of it and her shoulders. “Did I hurt you?” She arched back in to me, splaying her hands on my thighs under the water. “No, Blake. You can never hurt me.” I pondered her soft words. They were true. I wasn’t capable of hurting her. My burning desire to protect her and fear of losing her ruled me. I’d never thought about the consequences of my actions with any woman. She made me feel things—emotions—I’d never experienced. And sometimes go to extremes. Kill for her I had to. I wanted to be her superhero forever. Silently, I continued to sponge her. She hummed into the percussion of the bubbles. As I soaped her tender tits, her chest rose and fell against me. My cock rose beneath her. Her half-wet ponytail tickled me. Impulsively, I pulled it loose from its elastic band and it freefell, cascading over her shoulders like a velvet cape. The silkiness grazed my chest. Keeping one hand cupped on her pert rosebud-tipped tit, I reached for the tube of shampoo. The only one she used. Gloria’s Secret Very Cherry Vanilla. I squeezed a few dollops onto her hair and, with both hands, began massaging it into her scalp until there was a lather. The erotic squishy sound and intoxicating scent of the shampoo aroused me, my cock and heart swelling with love and lust, one physically, the other emotionally. I had to have her. Not fuck her. But make love to her. She was thinking the same thing. “Oh, Blake,” she said dreamily. “Take me. Make love to me.” Gently, I lifted her hips onto my erection. She lowered herself onto my thick, aching length, taking me all the way. God, she felt good. So fucking good. I squeezed my eyes shut and let her know with a moan. A former executive in the entertainment and toy industries with a prestigious Humanitus Award to her credit, she gave up playing with Barbies a long time ago but still enjoys playing with toys with her husband.
