This time he's fishing for forever…
From the moment Treat meets the new Deputy Chief of Dutch Harbor Seana Brogan, he's caught, and that's before she arrests him. Unfortunately his love 'em and leave 'em ways have proceeded him, and Treat suddenly finds himself in uncharted waters with Seana easily resisting his charms. Fighting to get Seana to take his intentions seriously will be the most challenging fishing he's ever done.

She refuses to bite…
No matter how tempting Treat Devereux seems, Seana knows the captain of the Sea Wolf is nothing but trouble—the kind of trouble that could cost her, not only her heart, but also her job. The last thing she needs is to hook up with the town's notorious bad boy. Not when she must prove to all the naysayers that she was hired as Deputy Chief based on her own merits and not because of who her father is.

While this Deadliest Catch town is taking bets on how long she'll last, the Real Housewives of Dutch Harbor have their own agenda and they're experts at tying people in knots.

For almost a year, Tanner West has tried to shake his feelings for his long time best friend, Paisley Bronson. Kellee Brooks moved to New York City for one thing: escape. Growing up in a small town where her entire life was planned out for her, she’s desperate to break free and find herself without following the same path as her mom. Kellee thought working at the local dive bar would mean more money for school, but when she meets the smoldering, scarred honey eyes of Tanner West, she finds there’s much more hiding in the smoky building than just a few tips.

With Paisley still haunting Tanner and Kellee vowing to save anyone the trouble of loving her, will the pain and fear keep them apart – or will they find a way to rewrite their song together?

I HEART BOOKS REVIEW

Tag Chaser (Chasers #1) by Kandi Steiner
Review by Theresa Esterline
Stars: 5

This "chaser" turns into a runner! Wonderful story of recovering from betrayal and facing your fears head on ... after a bit of running :) My husband has to travel for work and is sometimes gone 3-4 weeks, I can't even imagine what it would be like if he was deployed. Gone for months at a time fighting for his life and our freedom. Thanks to all those who serve or have family in the service. And now a bit about the book ...

Paisley and McKenzie are best friends and have been for quite a while. Neither of them have settled down yet, even though they graduated from college a few years ago. Tonight they are heading to their favorite bar, where everyone knows their name. As Kenz is ordering, Paisley notices some creep checking her out. She tries to move away from him and somewhat succeeds as they make it to the dance floor. But in no time, Mr. Creepster is grinding up against Kenz, Paisley tells him to get lost so of course he grabs her next. He is revolting, drunk, smells and is hurting her arms, but before she can even decide how to get out of the situation, strong arms wrap around her and pull her from danger. She is mesmerized by the Dreamboat who is about to deck Mr. Creepster, she jumps in before that happens, if they fight he'll get kicked out before she can get to know him. The bouncers remove the creepy drunk and now the fun begins. There is only one problem, Paisley just made a bet with Kenz to stop chasing after military men. Anyone want to bet if the muscular knight in shinning armor is in the service?

Favorite passage: "I think I'm more of a dark knight than a knight in shinning armor."

Blogger Beginnings...

Blogger Beginnings...

Hi All ... MB has given me some tips on how to post on a blog, this is a first for me - hope I'm doing it right.  Please be patient with me as I transition :)

Here's a bit about me while you wait for our next post...

I'm 38 years old and haven been married 15 years as of July 4th, 2013. My husband, Aaron, proposed on Christmas Eve. We have a 7 year old daughter, Emma. We a currently in our 3rd home and now live 10 miles from work (we both work at a Fortune 100 company in the Chemical industry). We love to travel in our Motor Home or via plane to go on Caribbean cruises (my daughter and I took her 7th cruise in October 2012 and have another planned for November 2013). My husband and I both lost weight in 2009-2010 (a combined total of 175 pounds). We've each gained some back, but I'm still down 20 of my original 60 pounds - trying to behave to get it back off! Reading my kindle keeps my hands busy so when I have down time I do not find myself looking for something to eat! If I am not traveling or reading, I like to scrapbook, go to our county fairs (as my husband and I used to raise Pygmy goats), or go to the movies. What do I love to read? All things contemporary romance ... It can be Erotica, Mystery, Suspense, Paranormal, Military, as long as there is romance I will read it! I have over 700 unread books on my kindle and usually read 2-3 a week depending on length. Thank goodness for Goodreads so I can keep them organized!!

Well ... that is all for now.......  ~Theresa

Collaboration Blog Tour

This is not your typical rock star romance. For one, the “rock star” is a rapper. And not just any rapper. Trace is the hottest ticket in the music industry right now, regardless of which definition of ‘hot’ you choose.

Taryn Starr is not the girl-next-door who unknowingly meets a celebrity. Known as “America’s Sweetheart,” the reigning country music princess and world-renowned superstar knows exactly who Trace is…or does she?

Their worlds collide when the musicians whose paths were never destined to cross are forced by their joint record label to collaborate on a song. The sparks fly and ignite a fire that blazes hotter with every minute they spend together—for better or worse. One thing’s for certain, the two media magnets can’t deny their explosive chemistry, but will life in the spotlight ultimately bring Trace and Taryn together or force them apart?

***This contemporary romance new adult novel is for mature audiences. The language alone would make a sailor blush (the guy’s a rapper, remember?) so 18+ only, please.

Excerpt 2

The limo driver opens my door and just as I’m about to swing my legs out, I catch a glimpse of the guy who snaked my award. He and his entourage are working the carpet, though instead of keeping their distance from the masses who are screaming his name, they’re actually hugging and kissing everyone they come in contact with. You have got to be kidding me. “Ridiculous,” my mom says, the distaste evident in her voice. “Couldn’t they have more class?”

Ignoring her, I continue to carefully exit the vehicle, and soon the crowd collectively starts to holler my name.  After waving, I start my walk and can’t help but notice he stops just outside the doors and turns around. Obviously disappointed the crowd is no longer all about him.  I happily sign a few autographs while feeling his gaze on me from the corner of my eyes.  Trying to ignore it, I continue signing, waiting for him to make his way inside.  “That’s enough,” my mom tells the young girl holding her paper and pen to me.  Shooing her hand off the paper, I smile and sign anyway, handing it back to the girl.  Her ecstatic yelling and jumping is enough to make me giggle.

My mom, not willing to take any chance of me disobeying her again, firmly places her hand on my elbow and leads me back up the carpeted walkway.  My laughter quickly quiets and my smile turns down when I spot him still standing there, staring directly at me.  Other than his two bodyguards standing at either side of him, no one else is around.  Those mesmerizing blue eyes bore into me the closer I get.  Swallowing hard, I will my heart to calm down before I reach him.

He places his hand on the door handle and opens it for me.  I quietly give him my thanks and enter with my mom following close behind. When the doors shut, he comes alongside me. “I just wanted to say congratulations on the award.” He holds his hand out for me to shake and when I place my hand in his, I’m amazed how soft his hands feel. I guess if I wasn’t plucking guitar strings all day, that’s how my hands would feel too. Unexpectedly, he pulls me into him and his lips brush against my cheek as he whispers, “But it should have been mine.” With a chuckle, he walks away, once again leaving before I have a chance to respond.

Title: Matter of Choice
Author: RM Alexander
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Publication Date: January 21, 2014

Some promises can’t be kept.

Shannon Winters’ picture perfect marriage is in shambles after a car accident left her husband an amnesiac. The commitment to vows he doesn’t remember making keeps her fighting while covering up the parade of other women and a spectacle of bad behavior. Her career as owner and manager at a successful boutique hotel alongside the Hudson River keeps is her refuge, but, at thirty-seven years old, what she craves is the bond to be repaired.

Even twenty years after high school, Triston Keyes continues to be haunted by the memories of the girl he’d lost, the only woman he’s ever loved. When he meets Shannon during a vacation, he finally has the chance to apologize. It’s the only hope he has if he ever wants to fall in love with anyone else.

Sparks rekindle between them, and Shannon struggles to find a reason to stay true to a broken marriage which is quickly crumbling as she gravitates towards the forgotten love.

Until her husband pleas for her to come back.

But when the depth of betrayal is revealed, Shannon must choose her vows-and her beloved hotel-or to remain true to her heart; while Triston must fight to keep the past from catching up to his future.

Both know nothing is a matter of luck, but a matter of choice …

Excerpt One:

She reached toward his hand, her heart shuddering as he flinched away. “Greg, Greg, come on.” She sidled up next to him, pressing his hand, still tight around the bottleneck, gently downward and ignoring his glare. No doubt he resented the intrusion. It didn’t matter. He’d come to the only sanctuary she had, allowing him to ruin it was not an option. “How about you come rest in one of the guest rooms? I have a vacancy. You can watch some TV, maybe get some sleep.” She kept her other hand rested on one of his fading biceps, the fingers feeling alien against a memory of gym-toned masculinity.

Greg snatched his arm from reach, defiance hardening the charcoal in his eyes, his voice a snarl. “I don’t want to sleep. I want to party.” He grinned, pushing against her weaker hold to raise the bottle as he surveyed the room. His voice bellowed once again. “Where’s a pretty date wanting some great entertainment? I’ve got it right here.” He gestured towards his groin, bellowing laughter.

The words and gesture cut hard against her. With eyes closed, she found her center and whispered words more damaging to her sanity than his feral actions. “The entertainment will begin later. First, you should lie down. You’ll want to be at your best for the party tonight, won’t you?”

Excerpt Two:

He snorted and chuckled. “You’ll call security on me? Like anyone in security scares me? That Stevens rent-a-cop-he’s a joke. I said, Get out of my way!”

The hands which had spent the better part of ten years caressing her skin and holding her with happiness and sorrow shot out and grabbed her shoulders, his grip hard against her skin. She yelped and then screamed as he pulled her up off her feet, glaring with angry eyes, then threw her against the wall. Unable to gain her balance in time, she shrunk to the floor in a crumbled heap, staring at her husband as he turned away without a second look and strode in to the banquet room. Tears spilled down her cheeks as his booming voice blasted through the air, and then terror struck as Rick looked up, then past Greg to meet her with first startled then enraged eyes.

Her voice didn’t find its way out of her mouth in time to stop Rick from barreling towards Greg, arms wide and ready to tackle. Shrieks and gasps ricocheted out of the banquet room and pounced off the walls, pummeling Shannon like bees as Greg glowered at the teenager. A single hook landed hard and precise against the boy’s temple, sending him sprawling to the ground. Senators and chair people rushed to his side, and others wrapping their arms tight against Greg’s drunken rage, encasing him with immobilizing restraint.

Excerpt Three:

She smiled as she rested her fingers in his palm. “This is beginning to dangerously resemble a date.” With the word in the hanging in the air, her mind relaxed. It was said, and now could be refuted, adjusted as needed.

She stepped out of the car, then backed into it when Triston didn’t step back to give her room. “We have rules, sir.”

“Yes, we do. And my favorite rule is to treat you like the lady you are.”

She shook her head, and waited until he allowed her enough berth and generously dropping her hand to keep up appearances. As they drew nearer to the front door, she looked over to his grinning face. He looked like a school boy escorting the class beauty. They were neither, and his expression made her laugh. “What am I going to do with you?”

His lips tilted into a lopsided smile. “There are so many wonderful ways I could answer that, but, you know, we have these rules, and …”

Excerpt Four:

“I think you’re underestimating my commitment here.”

“I think you’re getting ahead of yourself.”

“Am I?” He leaned forward, his knuckle cupping her chin as he edged it upwards and softly pressing his lips against her mouth. Her every fiber wanted to fight him, to push him away, but their skin pressed together felt too good, and she melted into him.

Slowly, they parted, her voice hoarse as she spoke. “We shouldn’t …” She couldn’t bear to open her eyes. She didn’t want to see the expectations and hope she imagined to be shimmering in his gaze, or reveal the shame and uncertainty she knew was in hers.

He pressed a finger against her lips, leaning forward to whisper in her ear, his breath intoxicatingly warm. “Don’t say ‘we shouldn’t’ anything. Open your eyes sweetheart, look at me.” He paused, and she could feel him back away. Setting her jaw firm, her lids eased open, staring into his gaze a mere inches away. “It was one kiss Shy. That’s all. And I won’t go further than that until you’re ready. But to make it clear, I love you. It might seem impossible, it’s been years and we haven’t spent much time together since I came to the Grande. But I realized this afternoon, when I took a jog down that path we walked… I loved you in high school. Honestly, truly loved you. I screwed it up. But the love never really went away.”

I HEART BOOKS REVIEW

Matter of Choice by R.M Alexander
Review by Jennifer Ballam
Stars:4

This book is a predictable one, to be fair most romances are but I love them anyway! This one is well written and although you can predict almost every twist and turn that happens you stay with the author on this ride as you cannot but help love the characters that you should and despise the ones your meant to!!

This story is all about Sharron and how she is struggling to hang on to her marriage with a husband, Greg, who has been suffering from amnesia since a car accident almost 2 years ago but she's trying to do the right thing. I mean she is isn't she. . . she did make the vow in sickness and in health, for richer for poorer. It was an easy mantra to chant, that is until Triston, her first love and heartbreak, walks into her hotel to stay for the week, along with his girlfriend.

As I said at the beginning this is a predictable romance and the twists and turns that happen in the book are not overly surprising ones but I have to say that the way that the author wrote the story and the characters emotions had me gripped and crossing my fingers for a good outcome. The twist at the end, or at least the instigator of it, was one you knew was coming and I could help but smile and cheer for Sharron and Triston when that divorce finally came.

A sweet romance, one that does not have those sex scenes that most have nowadays, but this romance shows that those scenes are more often than not are simply not needed. Yes they could have been put in here but that would have detracted from what was a lovely sweet romance, I mean every girl wants the one they love to stand up in a crowded restaurant and declare their undying love for them!!!

A Moment In Paris Blog Tour

Title: A Moment in Paris
Author: Danielle Wright
Genre: Romanice/Erotica
Publication Date: January 2014

Tenley Clarkson has dreamed of being in Paris her whole life. Experiencing all of the sights and culture the city has to offer, the last thing Tenley expects is to find herself enchanted by the emerald green eyes of Jayden Matthews.

Tenley is cautious about trusting anyone. After being betrayed by her mother and her ex-boyfriend, her defenses are up, or at least she thought they were. But Jayden breaks through her walls, making her feel safe and protected. He has the power to consume her - mind and body.

Jayden Matthews knew it the second he saw her. Tenley Clarkson belonged in his life; this beautiful woman who is hiding a world of pain and fear in her eyes. He feels the need to protect her, to make her happy. The smile on her face and the soft sound of her voice exhilarated him and calmed him all at once. He had never felt more alive.

As they explore Paris together, Jayden takes Tenley to places she'd only dreamed of. Gives her moments she couldn't imagine. A single moment of intense connection unfolds into love.

It was only one moment. But that's all it takes. As tragedy strikes and threatens to tear them apart, can Tenley learn to trust and love? Can Jayden prove that he will fight for her? Or will he betray her like she has been her whole life?

One moment is all it takes to change your life, to meet someone, to fall in love. One Moment is all it takes, to shatter your world completely, taking away everything you never knew you needed....

A Moment In Paris by Danielle Wright
Review by Jennifer Ballam
Stars: 5...

All I can say about this book is, WOW!!

Tenley is in Paris with her friend to enjoy the sights and then BAM her eyes connect with those of Jayden and that is it. They attempt to spend every moment that they can with one another. However things are never that easy as what happens next attests to.

The author writes a fantastic story with some lovely information contained within it about Paris. That aside the characters are fantastically written and the journey that they go on. You'll like both characters but I have to say that I will be there fighting for Jayden myself!!!

There is not much that I can say about this book lest I spoil it for you. All I want to do is gush about it!!! Needless to say that the closing words of the book sum it all up for me but again I feel I cannot tell you what they are as again they will spoil them. Have your fan at hand as well as a box of tissues, you'll need both!

Danielle Wright was born in California, but raised in Colorado where she currently resides. She has one younger brother and is close to her family. She loves to read, and has had that passion from a very young age, love stories always being her favorite. She has always loved telling stories and often found herself making up her own stories to tell. Danielle loves the idea that a story, even for just a little while, takes the reader away from everyday life and puts them in a world that they could only dream of. She truly believes that a good book will stay with you and even has the power to change your life. Once she decided to no longer let fear get in her way, Danielle began to bring her dream worlds to life, first as an escape for herself and then, hoping that someday, someone, somewhere, will find their escape in her world.

Danielle values her family and friends above anything else. When she is not reading or writing you can find her hanging out with her family, watching football, The Voice, Greys Anatomy, Sons of Anarchy or going to the movies or concerts with friends. She is a huge country music fan, although her favorite band is Maroon 5 and she has a major crush on Adam Levine. She loves anything Disney, and still believes in magic, fairy tales and true love. She wants her readers to remember to smile, nothing horrible lasts forever. Also, that every moment is important because you never know which moment is going to change your life.
