I loved this series by Staci Hart! You can find my reviews for each of the three books below all three were five stars!!

With a Twist (Bad Habits #1) 

Spinning and spinning...

Is how the room will feel as you read this story of ballet, literature, and liquor!! What a great start to the series, you can see little bits and pieces here and there of the next books. Six friends in New York City, a brother and sister, two sisters, and two more make up the group. They are direct, mostly honest, and I can't wait to read more! And now a bit about the story...

Lily and West have been friends forever. Lily has been lusting after Blane for what seems like forever. But he just isn't cutting it. It has been such a disappointment. West has a friend with benefits arrangement with Christine. Of course they aren't close friends since non of the others have ever heard of her. When West overheard a conversation at a party that puts the end to that little arrangement. Now to spin onto the next party and see what twists the liquor has in store...

Oooh I loved the second installment of the Bad Habits series... though I'm not sure our characters really do have them... This second story centers around Maggie and her mystery man, Cooper aka her brother's best friend. We do get insights to the other characters too, but we learn the most about Maggie and Copper. And now a bit about the story...

What could be so bad about a billionaire wanting to date you? For Maggie, Cooper is dangerous. He has a reputation as a manwhore, he never takes anything serious, and she just got out of an awful relationship. But all those things make him great for a no strings secret hookup. Only one problem, he doesn't want it to end and their secret is slowly escaping. 

Favorite passages:

- calling West overprotective was like calling a great white shark ‘cuddly.’

- The stylist will have all the clothes, so just show up in whatever. Naked, then. Got it. I’m sure the photographer will be pleased. Really, though. Try to keep your pants on. No promises.

- “Always thinking with your Mini Cooper, aren’t you?”

- Never mind speak of the devil — I couldn’t even think of him or he’d appear.

- “But it’s not so sad as someone dying.” “That doesn’t mean you’re not grieving. You’re mourning the relationship. It’s the future you constructed that died, and in the end, you still lost someone you love.”

Last Call picks up after over half of the habits gang is paired up. Leaving Patrick and Rose to smolder at each other. You'll find laughs as Rose tries to date, broken lamps when she stops dating, and sadness as life threatens to pull it all apart. And now a bit about the story...

Fear is a dangerous thing when it comes to love. Patrick had a loveless childhood, escaped but found the wrong crowd before he ended up at Tonic and with the Habits group. Anyhow, he loves Rose, but he doesn't want to lose her so he leaves her. Rose loves him, but he left and then paraded another woman into her bar. Now they are dancing around each other. What will happen when they are forced to live together???

About the Author

Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life -- a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can't forget that. She's also been a mom, with three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She's been a wife, though she's certainly not the cleanest, or the best cook. She's also super, duper fun at a party, especially if she's been drinking whiskey. From roots in Houston to a seven year stint in Southern California, Staci and her family ended up settling somewhere in between and equally north, in Denver. They are new enough that snow is still magical. When she's not writing, she's reading, sleeping, gaming, or designing graphics.

Bethany has done it again... I read all four books in this series back to back. She has Lila and Cade in some wild situations again. No book four spoilers here, but no guarantees on one-three. As I've said before these stories are mysterious and hilarious, plus a few embarrassing situations to make comedy for most... And now a bit the story...

Before Cade and Lila left Hawaii they got engaged. Now that they are back home it's time to make decisions for their future and plan their wedding. All their friends and Cade's family are pitching in. It seems all Lila has to do is pick out her dress and show up. With so much spare time she heads back to the gym until she gets a case that has her wondering if there will be both a bride and a groom able to show up at the alter...

Dessert is a dish best served with chocolate!

Hilarious comedy slash mystery with just the right amount of romance. The storyline is realistic and often leaves you wondering what will happen next. Lila may struggle with many things, a recently divorced mother of twins, but she makes it work and always has room for cupcakes! And now a bit about the story...

Lila is working part time for her best friend, Amy May, at her bakery. She also works part time for Moose taking covert (or so she thinks) photos. When Moose takes on a dangerous client, Lila finds herself over her head. Luckily Cade is nearby and rides in to the rescue. But there is still a bad guy out there to catch...

Favorite passage: “This is different for me, so it’s kind of good that you’re out of practice. Maybe you won’t realize right away when I fuck up.”

Can there ever be such a thing as too many cupcakes???

And the saga continues with Lila, Cade, The Douche, and so many more... No spoilers for book two, but many for book one. Hilarious, mysterious, and with the right mix of danger and passion. I could almost taste the sugary sweetness of the frosting as Lila tackles her next case. And now a bit about the story...

Lila is working through the pain and suffering of her actions while she was drugged. Now she owns the PI business, has a new house to fix up, and is trying to call her ex Eric and not The Douche. Cade is excited to introduce her to his MC. Though things do not go as planned when he discovers she already knows his VP. Then to add to the mix there is a dead body and a new puppy. This is going to require lots of cupcakes and piddle pads!!

Favorite passage: “Did you know that desserts is stressed spelled backwards?”

Who would thought paradise could be so dangerous... No spoilers for book three, but many for book one or two. 90+% of the story is set on the Big Island in Hawaii. Cade is taking Lila and her kids to meet his family. There is suspense, love, frustration, danger, plus lots of Hawaiian favorites. And now a bit about the story...

Cade and Lila have had an explosive sex life. But as soon as they are set up in his childhood bedroom, Lila puts the kibosh to sex under their roof. Which he just sees as a challenge and Lila finds herself repeatedly embarrassed. Meanwhile Cade's younger sister seems to be in trouble. In meddles Lila and before you know it things have progressed from bad to worse. How will they ever get out of this one?

            I do my best work in the bedroom. This is completely my domain. So it should be no big deal that she asked me to wait here. But something about being in Charlotte’s bedroom is wigging me out.

            She’s taking a shower, and no matter how you slice them, New York apartments are approximately thimble size. Let me spell this out—wet, naked, hot woman in a ten-foot radius.

            Got it? Okay. Moving on.

            I pick up a picture frame on her sky blue bureau of the dog her parents have. A fluffy brown summa dog—some of this, some of that. I’m going to focus on this mutt. Zero in on him. Look at his tail. Check out his ears. Yup, this picture is doing the trick. It is helping me not to linger on the naked woman and how well she kisses.

            Or how much I liked it.

            Why the fuck did I like it so much?

            “The thought crossed my mind,” I say, as I lean against the bureau, striking a casual pose.

            “Because if you’re my fiancé, you need to be comfortable with me being naked,” she says with a crisp nod.

            Shit, she’s going to do it. She’s going to drop the towel. She’s going to make us practice fucking. I am the luckiest man on the face of the earth.

            Wait. No. I can’t fuck my best friend. I absolutely, positively, can’t screw Charlotte. Even if she tosses the towel on the floor and begs me to.

            I lace my fingers together behind my back, linking these twitchy hands.

            “Okay, so you’re getting naked,” I say, doing my best to imitate her cool-as-a-cucumber tone that is throwing me off big time.

            “No. It’s the idea of me naked,” she corrects.

            I give her a pointed look. “Seems to me it’s both the idea and the reality.”

            “Fine, fine. They’re one and the same, and it’s part of the debrief.”         

            “Is this the exam portion?”

            She walks past me, her arm brushing against mine before she yanks open the top drawer of the bureau. “Yes. This is the practical portion.”

            “And this is because you somehow think we’re going to be required to be naked together in front of Mr. Offerman in order to pull this off? This isn’t like some feats-of-strength style fake engagement where we have to pass certain skill sets in an obstacle course. You know that, right?”

            She nods, as she hunts around in the drawer. “I’m aware of that. I see this as more like the Newlywed game.”

            “And in this version of the game we’re quizzed on how I get used to the idea of you naked and vice versa?”

            Her breath hitches when I say that—vice versa.

            I don’t know what to make of that small gasp, or if it means something about the idea of me au naturel.

            She spins around, and holds up two pairs of panties, one in each hand. “Quick. Someone pounded on the door behind me, causing me to jump and squeal in surprise. I turned to look at the still-closed door, and knew who I’d find on the other side.

Shit.

I wiped my cheeks, put on a brave face, and opened the door.

“Hey,” I managed, even though Jericho stood before me, seething.

A lovely romantic standalone with a little suspense. Set in a beautiful small town with thriving shops on Main Street. We get to read about the next steps for Millie and Jackson from book one, but no worries, you will not get lost if you read this first. But the best part is learning what made Natasha and Jericho hate each other. Some say hate is really close to love. And now a bit about the story...

Natasha and Jericho met in college and fell head first in love. Every moment not spent in class or studying was with each other. They talked about everything: past, present, and future. But then early one morning, right before their morning coffee date, Natasha got a call to come home, family emergency. She knew she couldn't leave him unless she did it cold turkey. So off she went. What a heartwarming story!!

Who doesn't love a happy ending! Though I wasn't sure it was in the cards for these two. With the exception of the one bad guy (or should I say gal) in this story everyone is generally nice and polite to the other. Yes there are tantrums, but I'm talking about the are you kidding me type of evil. Good to know there are still stories out there where most people are good and treat each other kind. I hope you enjoy this fun and quirky story about three sisters!! And now a bit about the story...

Millie and her sisters are running a successful catering business with a small storefront. Jackson has been separated from his wife, who up and left him add their daughter to find herself, for a year. Now he has just days to plan the perfect 9 year old birthday tea party. Only one problem... he knows nothing about tea parties. Millie comes to the rescue and may end up growing more than her business!!

Favorite passages:
- I was beginning to wonder what the hell was wrong with this guy. There had to be something. No one was this perfect. Maybe he picks his nose or bites his toenails . . .

- “My daddy says, either you love someone or you don’t. I heard him in class one time, and he said the characters in his books spend so much time being ob-ob . . . What’s the word for dumb?” she asked. Mrs. Heeler and I both said, “Obtuse.”

Would anyone ever love someone as Damaged as she? 

Wow I loved this story! There are tears, laughs, fights, and fires! We even go face to face with the serial killers. It can be read standalone, however it tells you how Stephanie and Dominic (from the Stephanie Carovella series - Nowhere to Run and Nowhere to Hide) first met. Nina continues to draw you in deeper to this story line as we learn more and more about Stephanie. Amazing some of the "predictions" the characters make which having read both Carovella novels I know will or will not come true... No spoilers from me though, you'll have to read the books to know for sure! And now a bit about this story...

Stephanie has finally started to pull herself together, it has been 6 months since the second most horrible night of her life... Ben has helped her pull herself out of the hell she was living in, but she still can't sleep thru the night. Maybe if she would open up to someone, but she never has and never will - no one knows the real Stephanie. In an effort to stop from waking up the whole house screaming each night during her nightmares, she starts leaving the house after short cat naps and ends up at Outlaws, a local bar in the area. She is attracted to one of the bartenders, but takes no action - they both take turns staring at the other for a month, until finally Dominic slides into her booth. The desire is instant and terrifying for Stephanie. As she escapes from the bar she finds on the many men who've tried to pick her up night after night following her. After telling him to get lost didn't work she stomped his foot with her stiletto and pulled her Glock out aiming for his chest. This is how Dominic finds her, not with fear in her eyes as she aims the gun, but fury - Dominic quickly intervenes before Stephanie can kill jock who can't take a hint. Will Stephanie and Glock scare Dominic off? Will she go back to Ben? And just who are these serial killers? Only one was to know, check out these awesome stories by Nina!
