"He was over here for like five hours last night drinking and talking with Dad. You think I like him? My dad's in love. And the way he didn’t hesitate to put Benji in his place, I just think Dad’s got a good feeling about him."
"Shit, I've got a good feeling about him too... and it's in my panties." She laughs and motions toward her crotch. "If I had been working and saw him do that to Benji's fat ass, I would've let him fuck me right on top of the bar…and I would’ve let everyone watch."
"Brandi!"
"I'm serious. Fuck it!”
"You're ridiculous."
"Paige, don't tell me you didn't notice that anaconda stuffed into his jeans?"
"What?! What the fuck are you talking about? Anaconda? I wasn't looking at his damn jeans." I laugh, finding it hard to not to love this girl who has become like a sister to me. She's the craziest bitch I know, but she's got my back no matter what. She's had it since day one.
"Why wouldn’t you look at his jeans? That’s where his dick is!”

Weightless by Kandi Steiner *~*~*~*~*~* Release Blitz & Review

Title: Weightless
Author: Kandi Steiner
Genre: New Adult/Contemporary Romance
Release Date: June 16, 2016

I remember the lights.
I remember I wanted to photograph them, the way the red and blue splashed across his cold, emotionless face. But I knew even if my feet could move from the place where they had cemented themselves to the ground and I could run for my camera, I wouldn’t be able to capture that moment.
I had trusted him, I had loved him, and even though my body had changed that summer, he’d made sure to help me hold on to who I was inside, regardless of how the exterior altered.
But then everything changed.
He stole my innocence. He scarred my heart. He took everything I thought I knew about my life and fast-pitched it out the window, shattering the glass that held my world together in the process.
I remember the lights.
The passionate, desperate, hot strikes of red. The harsh, cruel, icy bolts of blue.
They symbolized everything I endured that summer.
And everything I would never face again.

“I just don’t understand,” he said as he began rolling the ball up my calf. I moaned out loud, realizing that area was packed with trigger points, as he had called them.
“Don’t understand what?” I asked, still holding my breath as he rolled over my other calf. I leaned up on my elbows and turned my head back to meet his eyes.
He paused, holding the ball in place as he gazed back at me. “How could I never have noticed you before?”
I swallowed, almost more afraid of the brief tenderness I caught in his eyes in that moment than the usual hardness that existed there.
Shrugging, I answered his question just above a whisper. “I’m easy to miss.”
I held his eyes for a moment more before laying my chest back to the ground, resting my head on my arms. He started rolling the ball up my hamstrings and I closed my eyes tight. I thought I might explode from the mixture of pain and pleasure that rocked through my body. After a few moments, he spoke again.
“Maybe I just wasn’t looking.”

Weightless by Kandi Steiner
Review by Theresa Esterline
Stars: 5
Cardio, Confidence, and Kindness ... it's amazing how they can make us weightless!!
OMG!! What A Great Story!!!! Kandi did it again, this time with a totally new premise. Wealthy, but chubby, high school graduate vs the new to town evil, boyfriend stealing mean girl. Plus throw in the town bad boy and his missing twin sister. There is lots of opportunity for anger, sadness, love, fun, passion, and even some violence. And now a bit about the story...
Natalie Poxton has just graduated from Poxton Beach High School. Her boyfriend Mason has broke up with her and immediately starred dating the newest twig in town. Being a small town, everyone is in her business and Natalie can't go anywhere without running into Mason. Thinking she has to get him back, she agrees to see a trainer, as her mom suggested and her life is forever changed. She meets Rhodes, the infamous bad boy of Poxton, he trains her and helps her change her life. But will his lifestyle rub off on her...
Favorite passages:
- He was beautiful. Crazy? Maybe. Intimidating? Definitely. But, beautiful nonetheless .
- “An insecure man would rather laugh with the hyenas than chance failing a run with the lions.”
- If my life was to be a story, I wanted to take control of the pen. I wanted to change the paper, crumple up what had been written so far and start over.
- “I’m still the same girl he dumped less than three weeks ago. Plus, he saw me yesterday when I’m pretty sure I looked like a sweaty walrus.”
- “Finding something beautiful in the chaos.”
- He wasn’t a tiny meowing kitten by any means, but he wasn’t the pit bull I’d become used to, either.
- Rhodes had a way of bringing out someone inside me who had never existed before. I was bold around him — unabashedly bold. It felt strange and incredible at the same time.
- I was still nervous to sit too close to Rhodes. I felt like he was a caged animal. One wrong move might send him running or cause him to attack. I wasn’t sure which was worse.
- “We only have so much time to be, Natalie. So be wild, be crazy, be spontaneous, and be passionate. Never be sorry. And when someone tells you you’ll regret your choice later, be confident in the fact that you won’t.”
- “I’m worth more than what they think I am.”

Kandi Steiner is a Creative Writing and Advertising/Public Relations graduate from the University of Central Florida living in Tampa with her husband. Kandi works full time as a social media specialist, but also works part time as a Zumba fitness instructor and blackjack dealer.
Kandi started writing back in the 4th grade after reading the first Harry Potter installment. In 6th grade, she wrote and edited her own newspaper and distributed to her classmates. Eventually, the principal caught on and the newspaper was quickly halted, though Kandi tried fighting for her "freedom of press." She took particular interest in writing romance after college, as she has always been a die hard hopeless romantic (like most girls brought up on Disney movies).
When Kandi isn't working or writing, you can find her reading books of all kinds, talking with her extremely vocal cat, and spending time with her friends and family. She enjoys beach days, movie marathons, live music, craft beer and sweet wine - not necessarily in that order.

SUMMARY
"Where there's smoke, there's fire...And I would know.
As the only woman in a squad of firefighters,
They call me T-Rex.
I’m fierce, fearless and I get the job done.
I've got a past that hurt me, nearly destroyed me.
Who doesn't?
But I'm no damsel in distress...
I fight my own battles, my own wars and my own fires.
Now I’m sizzling for my lieutenant, Joe Murphy, and that’s one fire I don’t want to put out.
But it’s a complicated situation. A hot and wild situation.
When things spiral out of control should I fight for the new life I was trying to build . . . or just let it burn? "
REVIEW

5/5 stars
I was in a slump.
Real life finally caught up with me and with all the stressors, reading took a back seat -- of a bus -- a double decker in fact. Somehow, I lost the joy that came with reading, with discovering, with connecting with characters and losing myself in their world.
Well, when the opportunity came to review Ruth Clampett's new book. BURN, I jumped at the chance, hoping that the sequel to WET would re-re-ignite that fire for reading and books.
If I thought BURN would start a slow, smoldering fire, I was wrong. Oh so wrong. Clampett doesn't fool around. You know you are in for a wild ride when the opening scene finds the heroine sitting in her bedroom, cutting the crotch out of all of her husband's pants.
BURN is more than a love story. It's a story of survival and acceptance. It's a story of how a strong, young woman, risks her life side by side with other firefighters and yet has to fight to gain acceptance by her own team. It's a story of how a woman's realization that she married the wrong man led her to find the right one.
BURN scorches. BURN ignites. BURN leaves an indelible mark. Go get your copy now.
About the Author
Ruth Clampett is a 21st-century woman aspiring to be Wonder Woman...now if she could only find her cape and magic lasso. Meanwhile, she's juggling motherhood, a full-time job running her own art business, and writing romance late at night. Travel is her second obsession after writing, and it's enabled her to meet reader and writer friends all over the world. She's happily frazzled, and wouldn't change a thing about her crazy life.
The rooms in her home are all painted different colors, and her books are equally varied, infusing humor, drama, and passion into the romantic lives of strong heroines and their worthy and determined counterparts.
Ruth has published seven books: Animate Me, Mr. 365, the Work of Art Trilogy, WET, and BURN. She grew up and still happily resides in Los Angeles, and is heavily supervised by her teenage daughter, lovingly referred to as Snarky, who loves traveling with her mom with a sketchbook in hand.

About CHARGED:
From the New York Times bestselling author of the Marked Men books comes the second installment in the Saints of Denver series featuring a bad girl and a by the book attorney who could be her salvation...or her ruin.
Avett Walker and Quaid Jackson’s worlds have no reason to collide. Ever. Quaid is a high powered criminal attorney as slick as he is handsome. Avett is a pink-haired troublemaker with a bad attitude and a history of picking the wrong men.
When Avett lands in a sea of hot water because of one terrible mistake, the only person who can get her out of it is the insanely sexy lawyer. The last thing on earth she wants to do is rely on the no-nonsense attorney who thinks of her as nothing more than a nuisance. He literally has her fate in his hands. Yet there is something about him that makes her want to convince him to loosen his tie and have a little fun…with her.
Quaid never takes on clients like the impulsive young woman with a Technicolor dye job. She could stand to learn a hard lesson or two, but something about her guileless hazel eyes intrigues him. Still, he’s determined to keep their relationship strictly business. But doing so is becoming more impossible with each day he spends with her.
As they work side-by-side, they’ll have to figure out a way to get along and keep their hands off each other—because the chemistry between them is beyond charged.

EXCERPT
Quaid
I
tapped the edge of my thumb on the black-and-white mug shot photo and couldn’t
stop the grin from tugging at my mouth.
She
tried to fire me.
She was
five-foot-nothing, a lifetime younger than me, had multicolored hair that had
seen better days, wild eyes that couldn’t decide if they wanted to be green,
gold, or brown, while dressed in convict orange and obviously scared out of her
ever loving mind, yet she still tried to fire me. If it had been any of my
other clients—the cop accused of sexual battery, the frat boy accused of
manslaughter over a bet on a football game gone wrong, the middle school
teacher accused of pedophilia and having an inappropriate relationship with
several of her students, or the pro football player accused of domestic abuse—I
would have tipped my proverbial hat, wished them luck while I cut my losses,
and walked away without a backward glance. People always committed crimes.
People always needed a good defense, so it wasn’t like I was hurting for
clients, but there was something about the girl. Something about the defiant
tilt of her chin and the raw desperation in her tone when she begged me not to
call her father.
“I don’t want your help. I don’t want
anything from you.” She sounded like she meant it when she said it, but I
figured she was too young and too scared to know exactly what she wanted or
needed. Regardless, it was still refreshing to hear.
Everyone
always wanted something from me and my help was usually the least of it.
I
tapped the picture again, wondering why I found it so easy to believe that she
really hadn’t been a part of the boyfriend’s plan to rob the bar. She wasn’t
anyone’s idea of a model citizen and she had the shady track record to prove
it. She was too young, and frankly too adorable, to have a file this thick.
From what I could see, she had a set of parents always willing to ride to the
rescue when she got herself into trouble. She looked like some kind of colorful
woodland fairy from a Disney movie with her odd hair and delicate features.
None of it added up, but the sincerity in her tone when she said she would
never have gone with the boyfriend if she knew his intent and the fear in her eyes
when I mentioned her father seemed genuine.
I
learned long ago to treat everyone like they were guilty of whatever it was I
was paid to defend them against. I didn’t want to know the truth. I didn’t want
to know the circumstances. I wanted my clients to listen to me and let me do my
job as I tried to convince the rest of the world they were innocent, regardless
if they were or not. But this girl with her faded, rose colored hair and
turbulent eyes oozed innocence through the cracks of a very guilty façade.
Because
I was intrigued and actually believed the girl might be innocent, I wasn’t
going to let her fire me. I was going to call her father and hope that he would
help me keep her out of the slammer while I figured out how to plea bargain her
charges down or get them dismissed altogether. Again, because a cop was
involved in the robbery and because the boyfriend, junkie or not, was offering
up a pretty plausible explanation for Avett’s involvement in the crime, nothing
was a slam dunk, yet. I was going to help her whether she wanted me to or not.

I HEART BOOKS REVIEW
Charged (Saints of Denver #2) by Jay Crownover
Review by Theresa Esterline
Stars: 5
From trouble chaser to trouble maker to saint...
I'll start my review by saying I've yet to meet a book by Jay that I haven't loved!! I always feel like I'm right there with the characters, I can vividly imagine and see the picture she is painting with her words. I highly recommend checking it out for yourself! While this book can be read standalone, it is part of the Saints of Denver series, which followed the Marked Men series. If you want to build the stories up for all the characters you'll meet, I would start with Rule. Anyhow, this story is complete with a wild girl with pink hair, we first meet her in this story as she is in jail. Accompanying her is a sexy lawyer who she is trying to push away. They are surrounded by some the usual Marked/Saints team Brite, Darcy, and Asa, along with Wheeler, Rome, Royal, and Church. And now a bit about the story...
Avett has seemed to break the rules all her life. She climbed the tree her dad said not to and eventually broke her arm. She went to parties she wasn't supposed to be at, she was a teenage drinker, the bad decisions go on and on. But a one point she started making her decisions to protect her family from herself. Which usually landed her in even more trouble. The book starts with Quaid, her lawyer, advising her to tell the truth about her boyfriend robbing her dad's former bar. She tries to fire him, she would rather rot in jail then call her dad about another mess in her life. Luckily Asa had hired the lawyer for her, so she couldn't fit him ;) As the story continues the two keep getting thrown together. Will the charges stick? Or will the charge that seems to be her life detonate and burn them all down?
Favorite passages:
- Saying sorry wasn’t enough; this time around, I was actually going to have to change.
- All I could do was forlornly watch as he put what I was starting to consider his lawyer costume back on, while I sat on the edge of his bed wearing nothing but his ARMY T-shirt and some seriously tousled-sex hair.
- I was the one who jumped; he was the one that stayed warm and dry.
- Right now, I needed to be the man I tried so hard not to be in order to be someone worthy of the girl I was trying to save.

About CHARGED:
From the New York Times bestselling author of the Marked Men books comes the second installment in the Saints of Denver series featuring a bad girl and a by the book attorney who could be her salvation…or her ruin.

Quaid
She let her arms fall and scooted forward on the chair. She leaned forward and looked at me intently. Her eyes were mesmerizing and I found myself distracted by all the different colors trapped there. I had to ask her to repeat herself when I realized she said something and was waiting for a response from me. I needed to get my head in the game where this girl was concerned…this girl…that was the part I seemed to keep forgetting.
“What did you say?” My voice dipped lower than it normally was and I shifted in my seat as other parts of me started to notice all the interesting and attractive things about Avett Walker as well.
“I said, I Googled you.” She swept some of her hair back from where it had fallen over her shoulder, and I literally had to force myself to keep my gaze locked on her face as the motion pushed her chest up higher and tighter against the plain, black T-shirt she had on.
“Oh, yeah? How did that work out for you?” I knew what she would find: my service record, my wedding announcement, my work history from the firm, various tidbits on my most high profile cases, and various articles chronicling my divorce. Most divorces weren’t newsworthy, but when one of the people involved came from money and the other was as high profile as I was, it made for good filer on a slow news day. I was curious to see what her interpretation of the snapshot of my life that existed on the internet was.
She got up from the chair and started to pace back and forth in front of my desk as she talked. “It worked out well enough, I guess. I saw that you were enlisted when you were younger, which explains why my dad immediately liked you.” She looked at me over her shoulder and a tiny grin tugged at her mouth. “He doesn’t usually like anyone instantly. It takes him a while to warm up.”
I listened with half an ear as I watched her brightly colored hair swish around her shoulders. She didn’t come across as the girly or overly feminine type, so I wondered why she had gone with such a delicate and pretty pink when coloring her hair.
“I learned that you’re a Colorado native, that you grew up in the mountains, that your birthday is right around Christmas, which means you’re almost thirty-two, so you’ve accomplished a lot in your career in a short amount of time. I also learned that you own a lot of suits.”
I snorted out a surprised laugh at that last part, which made her stop pacing. She took a step closer to my desk and put her hands on the opposite edge, leaning forward. The new position made her T-shirt gape at the collar, and even though I refused to look down, I could see the hint of a leopard-print bra peeking out. That hint of something forbidden made my mouth go dry and had my pulse kicking. It was a powerful reaction to very little provocation, and I made myself beat it back, forcibly.
And don’t miss the first titles in The Saints of Denver Series!
