Here's to not so secret secrets...

They say a picture is worth a 1000 words.  If I could paint or draw, I'd make a picture for you with love, angst, frustration, fear, power, and more.  But since my picture would likely end up a jumbled abstract leaving a lot of room for interpretation, I'll tell you with three words: I LOVED IT!  Okay a few more... set in New York City at the Met with a trip to Florence, Italy, this story will keep you turning the pages.  To see how Rin is growing into a strong woman and to see how Court will screw up next.  And now a bit about the story...

Rin is working on her dissertation while starting an internship at the Met.  Court is the curator responsible for her area of study.  Rin is tall, almost as tall as Court.  Being 6' tall can be difficult for fashion on a woman.  So Rin wears men's shirts and her pants are often too short.  Court is handsome, but angry and closed off.  Rin comes to work her first day timid and shy svc dressed like a frumpy co-ed.  She immediately loses any respect from those at the Met based on her appearance.  However once they read her work, minds shift.  Then when she decides to take some power back and dress for the role to get her confidence back, she bowls then over.  Now onto the next challenge, acquiring David!

Favorite passages:
 - “It’s like having a Greek god send you to Hades for sacrificing the wrong kind of goat.”
 - But that was the funny thing about hearts. What they wanted and what would hurt them were sometimes the same. And in the battle of head over heart, I had always sided with my head.
 - “You don’t have to say anything. I don’t need you to tell me I’m right. I’m always right.”

She fits his body like a glove...

Of course she is his upright bass :) Loved this story from the red lipstick coalition series!  In Piece of Work we met Val (one of Rin's room mates), this is her story.  Still based in New York based, but Val's specialty is music, not art.  It is laugh out loud hilarious, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.  And now a bit about the story...

Val plays the trumpet on Broadway and spends her time in the pit surrounded by other musicians.  But there is one musician she just can't take her eyes or brain off!  Sam, first in his class in Julliard, now also on Broadway and part of a swing band, is tall, dark, handsome, and ever so charming!  If only she didn't turn to a bumbling, clumsy, crazy person when he is near.  But then when she kinda asks him out all things change, they strike up an arrangement, but when the truth comes out...

Favorite Passage: I mean, if I did math.  Which, in that moment, I most definitely did not.  I couldn't have counted bananas unless they were hooked in his belt.

There is a first time for everything...

The Red Lipstick Coalition girls are back!! Half of them are paired off and next up is the shy and wealthy Amelia. She can hardly go out in public without a shield to interact and talk for her. Now she's going to dive into public life headfirst! Hilarious, frustrating, with lots of awww moments. And now a bit about the story...

Thomas Bane is about to cause a scandal... again! His publisher can't handle another one and is about to drop him when he has a great idea. He'll turn his image around 100%. He'll marry the shy book blogger who has agreed to help him with his writers block. Now just how to convince her. But can they really be newlyweds in public and business partners behind closed doors???

Favorite passages:
- The best I could hope for was that I could survive the meeting without fainting , running away, or squeaking like a farmhouse door.
- “I love you, but you give terrible advice.” He meowed again, and if I spoke cat, I was pretty sure it would have translated to, Fuck you.
- “And it’s a scientific fact that men who smirk excel at cunnilingus.”
- “None of you know how pretty you are. It’s astounding really.” Val laughed and tucked into his side. “Must be nice to know how handsome you are.” He frowned. “That’s not what I mean. I don’t think I’m handsome.” All three of us made faces at him. He rolled his eyes. “I mean, I know I’m not hideous or anything, but I’m not… I don’t know. Entitled.”
- “Careful what you promise, Amelia.”
- “Because love isn’t perfect, but forgiveness is absolute.”
