I HEART BOOKS REVIEW

Just Between Us by Hayley Oakes
Review by Shana
Stars: 5

I loved this story! It was so well-written, I just couldn't put it down! The story reads chapter to chapter as a Then vs. Now kind of book. It follows the lives of Kyle and Sophie. "Then" starts when they are 14 and attend the same school. They can't be bothered with each other, and can't stand the people they each hang out with. When they are 15, Kyle's dad and Sophie's mom marry each other! When they are 18, they discover they really like each other, but it's been so many years of hating each other, they don't let anyone know how they really feel about the other.

The "Now" starts in current day when weeks prior to her wedding, her fiancé calls off the wedding. The day of what would have been her wedding finds her moping at her parent's house. Her mom peeks in her room to tell her she and her step-dad are going out and that Kyle will be at the house in a little while.

Kyle comes and is nothing but kind and a true gentleman to her. He convinces Sophie to come stay with him in London at his place for the Summer before she has to go back to her teaching job. He will be at work and she can shop and lounge around. She takes him up on it, and has a great time!

I really enjoyed this story, and think you will also! I got so wrapped up in their lives! There is happiness, and pain, misunderstandings, and reconciliation. It was a great read, I couldn't read fast enough!
